This research was conducted to identify how the horse riding simulator exercise and lumber stabilization exercise affect muscle activity, balance, functional disability index and pain level of the patient with low back pain. 40 university students who have the low back pain while they are studying participated in the eight-week experiment in which they were randomly assigned to two group: the experimental group both horse riding simulator and lumber stabilization exercise were performed for 15 minutes on each exercise, and the control group where only lumber stabilization exercise were done for 30 minutes. Each group did the given exercises three times a week. While the subjects are walking, to check muscle activity, electromyogram of the totally four parts, i.e, external oblique abdominis, Rectus femoris, Multifidus superficial and biceps femoris was measured. In addition, to measure static balance Limits of stability(LOS) were used, and Korean oswestry disability index(KODI) and Visual analogue scale(VAS) were respectively utilized to investigate function disability and pain level. |
