The aim of this research is to investigate and construct an alternative business Korean curriculum for students in Hong Kong. Nowadays, there is an increasing trend in individuals learning business Korean, and there has been a similar trend in hiring individuals who have learned business Korean. However,we lack research on effective methods and curriculum of business Korean, and there is also little research on Korean language learners who live in Hong Kong in general.

In this study, a learner—focused curriculum design is presented as an attempt to investigate and meet the needs of the target group of Korean learners and Korean departments in Hong Kong universities. This research presents a survey of the various needs of Hong Kong companies in related businesses and Korean companies that operate in Hong Kong. After analyzing the results of the survey, this research presents a curriculum for business Korean that is designed to meet the requirements that were presented by the analysis.

The main aim of this research is to design a business Korean curriculum that will enable a business Korean learner to prepare for available employment opportunities and gain insight for language and culture during employment. The research will be presented in the following manner.

In the first chapter,the needs and purposes of the study are addressed. The different possible methods, as well as a review of previous studies that are relevant in constructing a business Korean curriculum are explained and reviewed.

In the second chapter, using the definition of business Korean as a background, the characteristics of Korean education and design principles of the curriculum of business Korean education and training will be discussed. Furthermore, an integrated syllabus for business Korean will be designed from the principles of both a notional—functional syllabus and a task—based syllabus.

In the third chapter, the current state of business Korean education in Hong Kong will be analyzed. Firstly, the status of business Korean education within Korean departments of Hong Kong universities will be analyzed, and then each individual state of the curriculums will be analyzed and discussed accordingly.

In the fourth chapter, data surveyed from Hong Kong students and those who have graduated,韩语论文题目,as well as Hong Kong companies operating in Korea and Korean companies operating in Hong Kong, is analyzed with respect to the needs for a curriculum in business Korean. Keeping the analyzed data in mind’ the needs are analyzed and divided into student—end and business —end needs. The curriculum requirements that result at the end of the analysis of the needs for the analyzed groups (undergraduates, graduates and companies) are presented.

In the fifth chapter, keeping in mind the results analyzed and presented in chapter 4,a business Korean curriculum is presented; including its goals and objectives,syllabus and lesson plans as well as the implementation model that is required to meet the needs of all parties.

Finally,韩语论文网站,in the sixth chapter, a summary of the results of the research is presented, along with an analysis of the potential limitations of the study. The significance of this study is evaluated, and its potential for the application of business Korean curriculum in Hong Kong; as well as emphasizing the present need for such a curriculum in Hong Kong.

Through this research, both Korean learners and Korean Companies in Hong Kong were able to ascertain their awareness of the need for business Korean curriculum design and implementation. Furthermore, many people thought the need to be aware of Korean corporate culture was also important. Students, graduates and company representatives were just three groups of people whose
opinions were solicited for investigating the need of business Korean. It is hoped that through this study, gaining employment for both learners and hiring for employers becomes easier and more efficient, and will provide a more stable foundation for business Korean learners in the foreseeable future.
