The purpose of this study is to provide methods of Korean writing education in order to improve the ability of Korean writing and fulfill TOPIK test effectively for TOPIK test applicants by analyzing the type of item in the advanced-level writing area, the inquiry survey and the result of mock tests.
The result of TOPIK test gets more and more important than before by growing numbers of the test applicants recently within the four areas of vocabulary and grammar, listening, reading and writing. However, it is the field of writing in which applicants feel the most difficult. It suggests that both objective items and subject ones in the writing area make it much difficult. So considering the lacking of effective and technical study methods, this research try to propose some efficient writing educational methods.
The content of the research is divided into 4 parts as below.
In the first chapter, the direction and the purpose of this study and research are addressed.
The second chapter analyzes the writing ability demanding of the TOPIK test applicants by analyzing the items of advanced-level writing test. This chapter will analyze the TOPIK tests from 15th to 25th as to examine the type of item in the advanced-level writing test and the contents and skills the tests assessing. Basing on the analysis of the test s, the chapter proposes the educational methods by differentiating objective items and subjective items.
By conducting the mock tests, we can find out the difficulties students suffering in the tests. And also we will find out the weakness of students in Korean writing by examining the ability requiring of the students which have mentioned in chapter 2. According to this, the third chapter suggests the necessary ability to TOPIK test applicants and proposes the direction of Korean writing study to them.
Finally, the fourth chapter concretely proposes the writing educational method for advanced-level TOPIK test applicants. The educational method has been proposed through dividing the type of items in writing area. Different types of the items require different abilities of students. Therefore, according to different types of the items, this chapter will suggest the required ability to each type of items and the method of education for students.
