Every language has negative expressions, but using and expressing methods are different. Therefore, if expressing methods of 'native language' and 'language of other country' are different, language learners can have a difficult time with communicating by language which learners want to learn because of hardship of their expression which is different with their thinking. In case of Korean, '안(An)', and '못(Mot)' negative expressions exist. But, negative expression '못(Mot)' has difference of various meanings than negative expression '안(An)', and also, '못(Mot)' has restriction of place for combining verb or adjective. These difference and restriction can increase difficulty of learners, therefore, we need to find method for effective education with difference of meaning of negative expression '못(Mot)' and restriction of combination of negative expression '못(Mot)'.
for this, in Second unit, first, I reviewed meaning and characteristic of negative expression '못(Mot)', and in Third unit, I analyzed '못(Mot)' which was handled in teaching materials of Korean and deduced contents for educating '못(Mot)'. Consequently, I could find many teaching materials for suggesting '못(Mot)' which was used as adverb and which was combined with verb and used as '-지 못하다(ji mothada)', but I can't find teaching materials for suggesting '못(Mot)' which was combined with adjective. Also, most teaching materials showed '못(Mot)' which was combined with verb and used as 'can't do it (because of lack of ability or by external environment)', I can guess that current teaching materials couldn't reflect characteristic of meaning of negative expression '못(Mot)'.
Language learners may want to communicate with native Korean well and they may want to have linguistic habits which are similar to native Korean's linguistic habits. For this, language learners should learn various meanings of negative expression '못(Mot)'. Therefore, improvement of current teaching materials is needed, and teaching-learning methods for negative expression '못(Mot)' may be needed. Through this consequence, in fourth unit, I analyzed many teaching materials of Korean and I attempted to suggest improvement direction of problem of '못(Mot)' and teaching-learning methods for negative expression '못(Mot)'. Therefore, I selected '못(Mot)' as '-지 못하다(ji mothada)' which is combined with adjective and used as accessory adjective, and I suggested teaching-learning method by dividing into Warm up - Presentation - Practice - Use - Follow up.
