The purpose of this thesis is to study the education of Korean conjunctive adverb 'geurigo' and 'geuraeseo'.
In chapter 1, I have surveyed the conjunctive adverb appeared in the previous studies. In chapter 2, I have investigated the conjunctive adverb 'geurigo' and 'geuraeseo' in the function of same meaning with the connective ending '-go' and '-eo/-aseo'. As a theoretical bases, I have debated that conjunctive adverbs have a function of text coherence in connecting the sentences for the semantic binding. And in some literature works, there were some uses of conjunctive adverb surplus as the form of connective ending and conjunctive adverb again. The reasons of those cases are to emphasis the writers' aim. And in Korean language history, during the middle ages there were only a few conjunctive adverbs, but for the course of change into the modern ages, there came into many ones. So I suppose that as a midway, naturally the surplus have formed
In the field of Korean education, conjunctive adverb 'geurigo' and 'geuraeseo' are more popular than any other ones. I have checked the errors of the students' writing works. Because of the simple meaning system and unvariation form, they are taught at the beginner's level but there were high possibilities to make errors, too. Lastly, to reduce the students' errors and prevent the overuse of conjunctive adverbs, I have organized two instructional models as a grammar lesson based on the Integrated Language Teaching Method with the Grammar-Translation Method and the Communicative Language Teaching Method.
