This study is to grasp the influence and remedial actions of Korean education of multi-cultural family on the social development in Donghae city. We made a survey of 84 dwellers living at Donghae city from June to July, 2012. Employing a total of 84 samples, Category-type analysis and regression analysis were applied.
First, the immigrants of multi-cultural family living in Donghae city may play an important role in the development of the society. 57.1 percent of those surveyed notes that it does not contribute to the society development because a lack of Korean ability.
Second, married immigrants were showed the opinion that can contribute to society in the interpreters, language sector (43%) and manufacturing sector (43%) in the future.
Third, this shows that education variables (edu) of Factors affecting the social development in aspects of economic development is the most affected variable. Immigration Years(yea) and Korean Proficiency (koi) are also identified as relatively important variables.
Fourth, this confirmed that occupation variables (job) and Korean Proficiency (koi) are important variables in the role aspect of multi-cultural families.
Finally,
in the regression analysis, this found that the Korean listening(khe) and speaking(ksp) are relatively important variables. But writing (kri) and reading (kre) were a relatively low impact factors.
In summary, if Korean education program relating to multi-cultural families is considered regional characteristics, they will contribute more to the development of society.
In order to maximize the performance of the Korean education and strengthening of social participation, local government and NGO need to build the social integration system such as Long-term job training programs, social contribution program, the identifier of multi-cultural families, exchange program between multi-cultural homes and general household and so on. Then, multi-cultural families by promoting the ideals and policies same as mentioned above will contribute to the development of society.
