In order to increase the actual communicative ability of learners of Korean, speech act education involved with the cultural and social parts of the Korean society is necessary. For smooth communication with Koreans in the Korean language society and the establishment of social relationships, it is important to use speech acts appropriate to individual situations. The importance is prominent in that an inappropriate utterance in a sad or worrying situation other than pleasing or happy ones may work negatively with respect to the relationship with the hearer. For this reason, the education of consoling expressions appropriate to situations should be fulfilled, while an educational plan should be presented that help learners of the Korean language felicitously select and use consoling expressions in real discourse situations. This study has some significance in that it has analyzed the aspects of the realization of actual speech acts by native Korean speakers, summarized and indicated their types, and presented a teaching plan and an educational methodology applicable to the education of Korean as a foreign language.
