The purpose of this study is, on Korean language education for the immigrant women who married Korean spouses, to suggest a method, which uses s for educational texts, to increase their cultural ability, and to research the effect. As the international status of Korea has grown, more and more people hope to learn Korean, and the purpose of their learning is being diversified. Among them, especially the increasing number of marriage women immigrants is prominent. As for marriage women immigrants, their adaption to Korea and Korean culture is essentially required when it is considered that they are one of us to live forever as a member of our community, not as a short time foreign resident. Their fundamental purpose to learn Korean language is to increase their communication ability. Communication ability synthetically mentions the intelligence for a language itself and the ability to use the intelligence. Therefore, it is an ability to use the language in a sociocultural context. As for communication, it is clear that one can not communicate with others without intelligence for sociocultural factors and cultural background which are in the language. Thus, this study is to research various view points which have discussed the need of use of literal works in the field of Korean language education, and to adapt it to the education to increase their cultural ability. In Chapter II, it is researching the meaning of education and literature education in Korean language education. It researches in demand and analyzes to find what they want in the class of Korean language. Through questionnaires of Korean language teachers, it searches for better way to approach students' demand by finding out points to be considered to choose works and good points for literature class. In Chapter III, on the basis of existing discussions and of the result of questionnaire for the learners' demand, the standard of selection is suggested and experimental contents and process are concretely suggested. After selecting appropriate s for this standard, and after an experiment with the s, it shows what kind of effect is being made for the raise of cultural ability by class. In Chapter IV, the effect of education on the raise of their cultural ability is analyzed. And, to research their interest and satisfaction, which are their emotional parts, a questionnaire is being done on the subjects of the experimental group, after the experiment. In Chapter V, the result of the experiment is being analyzed and arranged connecting with existing research tendency, and the meaning of this study is being revealed. The results of the experiment whether education is effective on cultural education are as follows; First, the analyzation result of pre-evaluation and post-evaluation of the experimental group and control group showed that the increase of score of the experimental group was significant. It means that the education to increase their cultural ability is meaningful. As for detailed factors for cultural ability, significant increase was found in the daily life culture, historical culture and traditional culture, and no significant, but just average increase was found in the food, clothing and shelter culture. No raise was found in the language culture. Second, all of upper, medium and lower groups in the experimental group showed average increase in post-evaluation, and especially that of lower group was statistically significant. It means that the education was effective to all groups, especially on the lower group. And, the subjects in the experimental group generally showed positive reflection on the questionnaire after the experiment. As for their reflection for their class was; It was helpful to understand the culture; It was interesting; I want to have this class again; and, It was difficult, in order. It means all of them were satisfied more than average. And, as for difficult factors for their class; Grammar and words were difficult; Contents were difficult; Culture-related words were difficult. And for interesting factors; Good to know difficult words; Good to know culture-related words as well as Korean culture; Good because it was interesting; Good to know parents mind in Korean culture; and, Good to know Korean emotion. For the significance of this study, on the basis of the reflection of the learners and result of experiment, above all, it is the class itself for the marriage women immigrants. In fact, there is almost no systematic research for literal class, even though various researches are being done on migrant wives. It is not easy to have literal class with marriage women immigrants for whom accurate decision of language ability and continuous class are difficult, but is critically necessary. Furthermore, appropriate standard of for them was suggested and actual s were chosen through the questionnaire on the teachers and on the demand research for the learners, and experiment for education was done. It was not enough, but the trial to evaluate cultural ability was another significance of this thesis. As for the effectivity of Korean language education for the marriage women immigrants, researches on teaching methods are in need, as well as various development of appropriate texts for learners, including literal works, as mentioned till now. If appropriate teaching method, which is an important part of literal class, is being done, the increase of cultural ability with literal works would be more effective. And, the research on the evaluating part, which was mentioned as the limit of this thesis, should be done more actively. Concrete research is in need for cultural ability; What are the composing contents; and, What are the evaluating methods and tools?
