본 논문의 목적은 한국·중국 직유 표현 비교 분석을 통한 효과적인 교육 방안을 연구하는 데 있다. 중국인을 위한 직유 표현 교육 현황을 살펴보기 위해 한국어 능력평가, 한국 주요 대학교 교재, 관용적 직유 표현, 기본 숙어 사전에 나타난 직유 표현을 분석하였다. 그리고 설문지를 통해 오류를 찾아 분석하고 효과적인 교육 방안을 마련하였다. 교육 방안은 크게 세 가지로 나누어 연구하였다.
1. 첫째, 동화를 활용한 교육 방안이다. 동화는 말 그대로 아이들을 위한 책으로, 비교적 쉬운 표현들이 나타나 있고, 시각화된 자료를 효과적으로 활용할 수 있다. 그래서 학습자들이 흥미를 잃지 않고 직유 표현을 이해하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.
2. 둘째, 고전 소설 ‘춘향전’을 활용한 교육 방안이다. 고전 소설은 한국의 역사와 문화가 담겨있는 자료이고 자연물을 이용한 직유 표현이 많이 나타나 있다. 이를 통해 전반적인 직유 표현의 이해를 높일 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
3. 셋째, 연설문을 활용한 교육 방안이다. 연설문은 연설자의 주장이 강하게 나타나는 글로서 연설자마다의 개성이 있는 직유 표현이 많이 나타나 있다. 또한 한국의 정치, 경제, 문화까지 다양한 주제가 있다. 연설문에 나타난 직유 표현 교육을 통해 학습자들은 효과적인 직유 표현 학습과 함께, 낯선 직유 표현도 잘 이해할 수 있는 능력을 키울 수 있다.
직유 표현은 한국 사람조차 모르는 것이 많을 정도로 광범위하다. 그래서 중국 학습자들이 학습하는 것이 매우 어렵다. 하지만 일상 언어에서 그리고 형식적인 글쓰기나 말하기에서 효과적인 표현을 위해 많은 직유법을 사용한다는 점에서 매우 중요하다. 중국 학습자들의 직유 표현 교육에 있어서 본 논문은 많은 도움을 줄 것이라 확신한다.

The objective of this thesis is to provide a basis for an effective teaching methodology derived from a comparative analysis of Chinese and Korean similes. Through an analysis of similes present in Korean literature, current Korean proficiency tests, foreign phrasebooks, and contemporary idioms, it was possible to draw conclusions as to the current teaching methods of Chinese students. Through a questionnaire delivered to native Chinese Korean speakers, errors in the participant’s understanding were identified, analysed, and an effective training plan was prepared. The proposed syllabus is divided into three parts.
First, using fairy tales to teach. The use of children’s books and fairy tales, which utilise relatively simple expressions and data visualization, can increase the immediate retention of foreign concepts. Simplification of teaching material enables students to maintain attention spans for longer periods and thus increase simile retention and understanding.
Second, using the Korean classic novel 'Chun hyang jeon'. Classic novels illustrate Korean history and culture, and, using visual terminology effectively utilise similes to convey messages. That is, through simile use in Korean classic novels, readers are able to gain a greater understanding of past cultures and better visualise past periods.
Finally, using a formal public speech to teach. The use of a public speech in which the speaker uses personalized similes to convey a perspective gives students a reference point in understanding. Furthermore, Korea's political, economic, and cultural topics provide a range of material through which students can broaden their exposure, and thus their experience. Following the accumulated learnings of Korean similes through phases one and two, a study of simile use in formal speeches provides an effective means to increase a students’ ability to understand and interpret complex phrases.
The use of similes in Korean language is so extensive that it is common for a Korean native to not understand some visualisation. Under these circumstances it is little wonder that understanding this concept proves difficult for native Chinese students. Due to the extensive use of similes in contemporary Korean culture, gaining an understanding of how to use and interpret them is vital to the successful integration of individuals through language. This offers an effective program through which educators can better communicate the nuances of Korean simile use to native Chinese students who will then stand a better chance of language comprehension and cultural integration.
