The purpose of this thesis is to investigate mission strategies that can be used with the cooperation of Korean Diaspora for fulfillment of 'The Great Commission'. As of May, 2007 more than 7 million's Koreans have scattered in 169 countries. Diaspora means scattering. The phenomenon of diaspora is a large-scale movement of people from national, ethnical, and cultural backgrounds. This research explores the current status of Korean Diaspora in five major countries and selected three model immigrant churches for studying strategies in their actual locations.
This academic research was conducted with concern for current and future aspects of Diaspora Missiology. The outline of Senior Associate of Diaspora in Lausanne Movement was also investigated from the startup stage.
By analyzing the three case studies of actual immigrant churches, this drew five categories of mission strategies. The first strategy was the contextualization of the Bible and enhancement of Korean languages to younger generations. The healing approach to the troubled Korean
Diaspora was the second. The in-depth cultural research on ethnic origin and nationality was the third. The fourth was the strategic empowerment of congregations and mission resources against spiritual warfare. Final strategy was the multi-dimensional partnership and networking among Korean domestic churches, regional immigrant churches, worldwide mission institutions and national ethnic churches.
