Amid an interchange between Korea -China is getting active more and more since the amity between the two countries has been achieved in 1992, their interest in Korean language within China is getting higher and higher. Accordingly, Korean language is enlarging in its importance as a medium for the culture exchange of the two countries, and the Korean language education toward Chinese is now facing another turning point.
Chinese and Korean languages are quite similar in contents and delivery of meaning through expression, but as the course of development after many changes for social system, religion, nation, custom, manners, humaneness, geography, location are vary especially in consciousness expression, thought, emotion communication, those Chinese who learn Korean language often make mistake while talking in Korean.
Accordingly, I've decided to study Korean proverbs, the Chinese learners of Korean feel the most difficult above all the rest. With that, this study is targeting to propose an effective education plan in learning proverbs for the Chinese learners of Korean in the universities in China.
Firstly chapter 1, submitted a concrete goal and necessity of this study, and looked into previous studies on proverbs in Korean language education, and then proposed the subjects and method of the study.
In chapter 2, observed Korean texts published by Korean and Chinese educational institutions to see how Korean proverbs are shown in them and then put forth the features and problems detected in each text. A great deal of problems were found through this analysis, and these were the problems by which learners were plunged in confusion in learning proverbs. Accordingly in chapter 3, as a plan to solve these problems, educational proverbs were classified and then selected.
In chapter 3, a new recognition of an importance of proverbs education based on the analysis shown in chapter 2 was revealed and selected effective educational proverbs through comparison of texts in which educational proverbs are written and proverbs commonly used by Chinese under an objective standard. Those proverbs such as same-character &same-meaning, same-character & different-meaning, same-character & different-meaning, different-character & different -meaning. were classified and then conducted comparative analysis, which was followed by the classification of the proverbs by primary, intermediate, high grades to make out a list for a proper educational proverbs by grade.
In chapter 4, an effective, systematical educational proverbs were presented based on the list for educational proverbs selected in chapter 3.
Lastly in chapter 5, the contents researched in this study was arranged and its decision was presented. the purpose of this is to submit a concrete plan for educational proverbs for the Chinese learners of Korean language for an effective instruction to be achieved in the field.
Although, the instruction plan presented here is not a correct answer, I hope this will be helpful even a little for the people instructing Korean language in korean educational field, along with a wish a concrete study of a teaching method for proverbs should be carried on in the coming days.
