This study aims to supply basic data necessary for developing more improved educational programs for Korean languages by analyzing actual situations of female married immigrants' participation in the programs in their resident area of Jinju/Sacheon cities.
For this aim, this study operated the distribution of questionnaires to 180 persons of female married immigrants' residing in Jinju/Sacheon cities in the period of January - February in 2009. The questionnaire was made in the consideration of responder's resident area, nationality, age, educational background, job, the period of marriage, number of family members, and 160 sheets of questionnaire were collected from total of 180 sheets, among which, 156 sheets exempt for 4 sheets with inappropriate answers were handled in statistics. Statistic treatment used SPSS 15.0 for operating frequency analysis (Frequency N, Percentage %), analysis of multiple responses, verification of , verification of independent t, analysis of unitary variable, and Duncan's after-fact inspection.
The research results verified by this study are as below.
First, it is about the educational institutes for Korean language. 'Center for Supporting multi-cultural families' under the Department of Family's Health and Welfare was checked up in the most frequency, and then 'various private organizations' followed it in frequency.
Second, the time of the education for Korean language was investigated as 127 hours. This is relatively short period for the educational opportunity in which female married immigrants can achieve the level of communicating smoothly in Korean language.
Third, it is about the education of Korean language itself. Responders suggests 'the writing' as 'the most difficult part in the education of Korean language'. 'The items to be supplemented in educational material' indicates the highest ratio of being checked in 'Learning educational material with native language', supplementary material such as CD, Tape'. As the most required contents of Korean language education, 'the content necessary for daily lives' has been checked in absolute frequency, and then follows the 'the content about diverse administrative processes'.
Fourth, it is about the educational method in learning Korean language. It appeared that female married immigrants prefer the education conducted in their own home by the visiting teachers than that conducted in educational institution through direct visit. 'The level of satisfaction about the education of Korean language' shows its highest indication on dong-area, rather than up․myon area. 'The study method leveling up the learning motivation' checked 'the study centering on living situation' in highest frequency. In response to 'Wishing items from teachers', 'the eye-level education' was checked most frequently, and 'role model for counseling' and 'understanding of culture in immigrants' home country' followed it. .
Fifth, in response to the choice of the most necessary items for leveling up the ability of Korean language, 'active advertisement' and 'expansion of educational opportunities' were checked in highest frequency, then 'family member's cooperation' was also checked in high frequency.
This study reaches the conclusion as below following the research results as above.
First, to expand the educational opportunities, it demands that there should be the expansion of educational programs of national educational institutions in up․myon area, and of private organizations in center of the city in the same area.
Second, the frequency and the time for the education of Korean language should be expanded for female married immigrants' smooth communication in Korean language. The minimum of 8-10 hours should be guaranteed in a week.
Third, educational contents for the education of Korean language for female married immigrants should be constituted of educational contents on the basis of diverse variables. It seems that tailored education can be realized on the basis of the constitution of diverse educational contents in each functional purpose.
Fourth, it is necessary for the educational materials for self-study in Korean language to be made, with the necessity of making educational material written in immigrant's native language parallel with Korean language.
Fifth, in case female married immigrants' resident type is that of residence in country, 'visiting teacher's education' is the most effective method, while it is also largely demanded that there should be the education through internet․TV.
Sixth, teachers for Korean language should understand female married immigrants' hardships in daily lives with the right comprehension and non-prejudiced recognition of their native cultures.
Seventh, there should be active and diverse measures supportive for multi-cultural families to improve the Korean language education for female married immigrants.
