The research on Korean language education has been largely based on semantic analysis rather than meaning description. In view of that, this thesis proposes a new method of analysing and describing psychological adjectives 'kipputa'. So far there has been a great deal of research on semantic analysis of vocabulary or meaning differentiating of synonym. However, in order to effectively convey the meaning to students who lack of intuition on Korean language as well as cultural background, further investigation on an alternative and method of communication is required. In this sense, meaning description composed of semantic primes and canonical sentence, used in Natural Semantic Metalanguage theory, is significant because it is constructed of vocabulary which is free of linguistic and cultural gap. This allows the learner to understand the fundamental meaning of the Korean language, regardless of the their original linguistic background. This thesis targets the synonyms which require a more detailed meaning analysis for meaning description and meaning description purpose. First of all, it analyzes the meaning of 'kipputa(기쁘다)', 'culkepta(즐겁다)', 'pankapta(반갑다)', 'hayngpokhata(행복하다)', 'mancoksulepta(만족스럽다)', selected from the vocabulary list for Korean education. |
