Recently Korea's rural areas face with many difficulties ; such as a population decrease, aging, the climate change, farming household income reduction, FTA, and so forth. In order to overcome this situation, it is necessary for local government and community to transform existing rural policy to introduce community business. Community business introduction resulted from innovating agriculture as a six-dimensional industrial sector will be to provide community regeneration, create new job opportunities to aging people as well as women, and increase regional income.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the expected outcomes of community business introduction and the successful factors for the fitting condition in Korea.
The object of this study is focused on the excellent cases as patterns of the six-dimensional industrial sector of agriculture in JeonBuk province.
This study consists of five chapters. Each chapter is covered as follows ;
The first chapter is to explain the objectives, methodology, and scope of this study.
The second chapter is to establish a theoretical framework related to the conceptual definition, the patterns, the necessity and the policy of the sixth industralization in agriculture. And it is sought to identify the concept, trait, problems and the introduction conditions of community business. Also it review the preceding research related to this study and propose the framework of the study.
The third chapter is to analyze the excellent cases as patterns of the six-dimensional industrialization of agriculture, particularly in JeonBuk province.
The fourth chapter is to suggest successful factors and expected outcomes of the community business.
Lastly, the fifth chapter deals with conclusion.
In order to success community business in Korea, this study suggests alternatives as follows : the support of government and local government, especially the strong will of local government chief, community business intermediary supporting agency, positive participation of residency, systematic networking, enthusiastic leader, the making the best use of local resources, etc.
The most important expected outcomes of community business are as follows.
First, community business creates new job opportunities in localities. Particularly for the aged, the disabled, and housewives who have few employment opportunities at ordinary companies. Community business gives them to provide chances of active participation.
Second, community business anticipates community regeneration. This effect community business means that community business promotes organic unity of its customers, namely, builds a network, as local residents consolidate their unity through being involved in or using the same project and the customers are local residents..
Third, community business increase incomes of local residents. To achieve this aim, community business has to make the best use of tangible and intangible resources in local.
