본 연구는 몽골 유학생의 대학생활 경험에 관한 연구로 대학생활에서 겪고 있는 여러 가지 어려움과 대처방법에 대해 알아보고 그 어려움과 대처방법을 탐색하여 향후 대학생활 적응을 향... 본 연구는 몽골 유학생의 대학생활 경험에 관한 연구로 대학생활에서 겪고 있는 여러 가지 어려움과 대처방법에 대해 알아보고 그 어려움과 대처방법을 탐색하여 향후 대학생활 적응을 향상 시킬 수 있는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이 연구는 경기북부 지역에 위치한 대학원에 재학 중인 몽골인 유학생 12명을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 하였고, 현상학적 자료 분석 방법 중 국내 논문에 소개되어 있는 Colaizzi의 분석 방법을 선택하였다. 연구결과, 본 연구에서는 ‘알 수 없는 환경 : 고독한 유학생활’, ‘환영과 친절한 대학원 생활’, ‘유학생활의 만족과 기대’, ‘글로벌 세상과 함께 ’의 4가지 영역이 도출되었다. 몽골유학생은 중국유학생을 포함한 외국 유학생들과 유사한 학업적, 경제적, 심리적, 사회문화적 어려움을 겪고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 이러한 어려움에 대처하기 위해서는 주변의 도움을 받거나 문제 해결을 위한 적극적 노력 혹은 종교단체로부터의 도움을 받고 있었다. 몽골 유학생들은 유학생활을 통해 전문적인 지식을 습득하여 졸업 후 사회적인 지위를 보장 받거나 대부분 몽골로 돌아가 전문 분야에서 일하기를 희망하였고 사회적으로 유학생을 위한 제도적 개편을 가장 많이 기대하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 유학생에 대한 연구로 몽골 유학생의 대학생활 경험에 관한 질적 연구로써 몽골 유학생들의 대학생활 적응 향상을 위한 실질적인 토대가 되는 것에 그 의의를 두었다.
