Tourism has been emerged as a sector for the future with a lot of interests and active studies regarding tourism. As the tourism-related sector has been segmented and has various forms based on various literature and attention, it has become an era where tourism is important. However, as advanced science and technologies have been developed and urbanization has been accelerated, our life are abundant but many issues are appearing. Therefore, there are a lot of ongoing studies to solve the problems. In this regard, rural tourism among the tourism sector started to be regarded as a critical form of tourism from the late 20th century, positioning itself as an alternative tourism to provide culture and tradition as tourist attractions by harmonizing the nature and human environment beyond the simple ‘rurality’. Rural tourism is becoming one of the tourism products and countries in the world are expecting economic demands by giving fresh and positive images to tourists, different from other tourism products based on their individual and differentiated promotion and policies. Therefore, this study discussed the experiences, images, 'tourists' immersion in and visitors’ satisfaction of rural tourism, aimed to establish a strategy to experience rural tourism through Korea’s representative rural tourism experience villages. This was organized with an aim to figure out the concepts and importance of rural tourism; develop the theory of the images of rural tourism; and identify the influence on tourists’ immersion and visitors’ satisfaction based on various relevant books and articles, discussed s, magazines, internet and research s in order to achieve the research purpose of rural tourism experiences. This study set the research model based on the content and drew up the questionnaire to measure each variable in the empirical study conducted based on the derived measurement items. The empirical research was conducted from July 17 to September 23 by providing a total o550 questionnaires to the tourists who visited the rural tourism experience villages. The survey managers explained the purposes and aims of the research and provided prior education on the survey to the tourists. The survey was carried out using the self administered questionnaire survey method. Except for the questionnaires with insincere responses and the questionnaires that are not applicable to the analysis, a total of 486 questionnaires were collected, at a collection rate of 88.3%. Then again, the questionnaires with untruthful responses were excluded and 458 questionnaires were finally used for the empirical analysis. This study used SPSS WIN Ver.22.0 statistical software package, the social science research analysis package, and AMOS 18.0 for the empirical analysis. It conducted a frequency analysis on the demographic characteristics of the tourism employees who responded to the questionnaire, a factor analysis, a confidence analysis, a correlation analysis and an empirical analysis by applying the SEM (Structure Equation Model) to figure out the structural correlation between each factor. The study set 5 research hypotheses with 4 factors of rual tourism experiences, 2 factors of rural tourism images, 1 factor of tourists’ immersion and 1 factor of visitors’ satisfaction to meet the research purpose. Then, it verified the hypotheses and mediating effects of tourists’ immersion. As a result of verification of the hypotheses, 4 factors of rural tourism experiences and 1 factor of tourists’ immersion were adopted as well as 2 factors of rural tourism images and 1 factor of tourists’ immersion, meaning that hypotheses 1 and 2 were adopted. The hypothesis on the relationship between 1 factor of tourists’ immersion and 1 factor of visitors’ satisfaction was adopted. 4 factors of rural tourism experiences and 1 factor of visitor’s satisfaction were partially adopted. Lastly, the relationship between two factors of rural tourism images and 1 factor of visitors’ satisfaction was partially adopted. The confirmed implications based on the research outcomes are summarized as follows: First, this study is expected to be used as a useful basic data for effective positioning of the tourists in rural tourism through the representative rural tourism experience types. Second, it can be used as a useful data to learn the rural tourism images of Korea’s representative rural tourism experience villages at the moment, and as an important data to recognize the future projects or policies regarding rural tourism. Lastly, the study promoted theory application by limiting the target samples and representative rural tourism experience villages and suggested a task to conduct more studies on controlling the relationship between the specific subordinate hypotheses and variables since it has not been studied yet.
