This study aimed for establishing strategies based on involvement in order to offer tourists information and knowledge in effectual ways because the involvement of visitors in cultural heritage site is not higher than expected. In order to effectively provide visitors with information, two kinds of tourist map grounded on the Elaboration Likelihood Model were manufactured. One is the tourist map focusing on education for high involved person. The other is the tourist map concentrating on interest for low involved persons. The differences of tourists' understandings and attitudes as well as interactions were investigated through quasi-experimental designs. To do this, one-way ANOVA. two-way ANOVA and correlation analysis were used. Survey was conducted at Hwaseong palace that is one of famous heritage site located in Suwon. Survey results show that the changes of understanding and attitude are maximized when tourists use tourist map focusing on interests. In addition, the differences of understanding and attitude are middle when tourists use tourist map concentrating on education. On the other hands, the changes of understanding and attitude are modest when tourists don't use anything. It shows that tourist map for interests plays an important role in offering information to visitors. Regarding interactions between the involvements and kinds of tourist maps, the effect for understanding change is not verified, but for attitude change is confirmed. The result are as in the followings. First of all, the effect of tourist map based on the elaboration likelihood model is verified. Second, in order to complement limitation of experiment, exogenous variables are investigated. There is no any relation between difference of independent variable and exogenous variables. Through this process, the validity of experimental result has been vindicated to a certain degree. Third, the research results provide practical implications. Storytelling map effectually provides users with information that is easily to understand, which leads to positively change tourists' understanding and attitude. Finally, method by using quasi-experimental design shows relation between the degree of tourists' involvement and kinds of storytelling map. There are a lot of opportunities to use storytelling maps based on tourists' involvement. In consideration of the research results, information providers should think the difference of tourist's involvement, which will help visitors better understand tourist attractions. Despite the implication of research, it is almost impossible to control and cut off all of exogenous variables. In addition, it is ambiguous what is really stimulation causing the difference of independent variable. Nevertheless, this research is valuable in that elaboration likelihood model is empirically verified. Furthermore, the study have important implication there are many opportunities to utilize this results in various ways.
