Museum is the center of records and archives studies' interests on culture and art. Establishing archives in a museum and applying records management have been continuously done and it is attempted in the reality. It will contribute to qualitative growth of museum and to raise satisfaction of audiences of museum. Needs of establishment of natural history museum archives are also increasing. Natural history museum maintains biodiversity and shows coexistence between human and nature in natural history forms. World-famous natural history museum in the western worlds have kept their intellectual traditions since the modern time and run their own archives. Korean natural history museums have lacked reasons to establish archives due to various scattered problems. Therefore there have been no studies about establishment of archives in natural history museum. This study aims at suggesting how to establish and run archives in natural history museum. Natural History Museum Archives has effects to strengthen museum's functions and to raise work efficiency. It is very attractive because it can provide high-quality education and exhibition services to audiences of museum. Futhermore, it plays a role to conserve biodiversity and contribution of natural science knowledge, the goals pursued by natural history museum. For the study, the notion of natural history museum archives is defined and the related theoretical perspective is explained. Then, through UK's NHM and US Smithsonian Archives case studies, how to establish and run archives are reviewed. Then, the current status of Korean natural history museums are figured and pointed out. With case studies and status research, the deduced sources area analyzed and the directions of natural history museum archives are suggested. By explaining regulations of objects to be collected and managed by archives, establishment of collecting process for them, classifications and arrangement on the collected objects to be managed, designs of model related to usage of archives and forming networks, considerations for designing archives in natural history museum are suggested. In addition, directions of natural history museum archives are explained. With regard to natural history museum, records and archives management studies were not well-done before. Also, problems of Korean natural history museums and lack of analysis of collection of huge archives are also limitations for this study, and the related studies should be conducted. However, with suggestion needs and functions of natural history museum archives, this study has a meaning to start discussions about natural history museum. 공공기록 분야 외에도 다양한 사회적 부분으로 그 지평을 확대해 나가고 있는 국내 기록학계는 문화예술영역으로도 그 관심을 보이고 있는데, 그 중심에는 박물관이 있다. 박물관에 아카이... 공공기록 분야 외에도 다양한 사회적 부분으로 그 지평을 확대해 나가고 있는 국내 기록학계는 문화예술영역으로도 그 관심을 보이고 있는데, 그 중심에는 박물관이 있다. 박물관에 아카이브를 설치하고 기록관리를 적용하는 연구는 꾸준히 이루어지고 있으며, 실제로도 시도되고 있다. 이는 박물관의 질적인 상향과, 박물관 관람객의 이용만족도를 높이는 것에 기여할 것이다. 한편 자연사박물관 역시 아카이브가 설립될 필요성이 증가하고 있다. 자연사박물관은 생물다양성을 지키고 인간과 자연 사이의 공존의 방식을 박물형태를 통해 보여주고 있다. 서구의 세계적인 자연사박물관은 근대부터 이어져 온 지적전통을 유지하며 아카이브를 운영하고 있다. 국내 자연사박물관들은 여러 혼재된 문제로 인해 아카이브를 설립할 여유가 부족했고, 그에 따라 자연사박물관에 아카이브를 설립하고자 하는 연구 역시 제시된 바 없다. 본 연구는 자연사박물관에 아카이브를 어떻게 설립하고 운영해야 하는지에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 자연사박물관 아카이브(Natural History Museum Archives)는 박물관의 기능을 강화하면서 업무효율을 높이는 효과를 가지고 있으며, 박물관을 이용하는 관람객에게 높은 질의 교육 및 전시 서비스를 제공할 수 있다는 점에서 큰 매력을 가지고 있다. 또한 더 나아가 자연사박물관이 추구하는 목표인 생물다양성의 보존과 자연과학 지식의 보급을 실행하는 역할을 가진다. 연구를 위해 자연사박물관 아카이브의 개념을 정의내리고 그와 관련된 이론적 측면을 설명하였다. 그 후 영국의 NHM과 미국의 스미소니언 아카이브 사례연구를 통해 아카이브가 어떤 방식으로 설립되고 운영되어야 하는지에 대해 살펴보고, 국내 자연사박물관의 현황을 파악하여 문제점을 지적하였다. 사례연구와 현황조사를 통해 도출된 자료를 분석하여 자연사박물관 아카이브가 나아갈 방향을 제시하였다. 아카이브에서 수집하고 관리해야 하는 관리객체의 규정, 관리객체를 수집하기 위한 수집 프로세스의 수립, 수집된 관리객체의 분류와 정리, 아카이브의 이용과 관련된 모형의 설계와 네트워크 형성 등을 설명하여 자연사박물관이 아카이브를 설계할 때 고려해야 하는 부분을 제시하였다. 그리고 자연사박물관 아카이브가 지향해야 하는 방향성을 설명하였다. 자연사박물관과 관련하여 기록관리 연구가 제대로 이루어지지 않은 점, 국내 자연사박물관의 문제점, 방대한 아카이브의 컬렉션 분석이 부족했던 점으로 연구의 한계가 나타났고, 이와 관련된 연구가 향후 더 필요할 것이다. 그러나 자연사박물관 아카이브에 대한 필요성 및 기능을 제시하여, 자연사박물관과 관련한 논의를 시작했다는 점에서 연구에 의의가 있다. 주제어 자연사박물관, 자연사박물관 아카이브, 매뉴스크립트, 아카이브 컬렉션, 자연사 기록, 아카이브 네트워크 ，韩语论文网站，韩语论文题目 |
