본고는 주로 사전에 수록되어 있는 한·중 음식, 스포츠 외래어를 대상으로 하여 이들의 현황을 어휘내의 외래어 분류 형태와 외래어 차용 방법에 대해서 크게 음역, 의역, 혼역(음의겸역)으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이를 바탕으로 한국어와 중국어에 있어서 외국어를 수용하는 과정에 나타난 특징을 비교 분석하면서 그 공통점과 차이점을 고찰했다.

This focuses on the alien words about diet and sports from the Korean language and the Chinese dictionary and studies on their ways of acceptance, which can be divided into three categories: transliteration, free translation, and semantic transliteration. With the analysis on and the comparison of the characteristics in the process of acceptance, the is engaged to discover the similarities and differences between Korean and Chinese.
Along with the culture integration, the emergence of alien words is inevitable. Today, the proportion of alien words in both Koran language and Chinese language is increasing. In the long course of historical changes, those alien words have been gradually accepted by people and finally become part of their own language.
Besides, the acceptance modes of alien words are diversified, from the simplest transliteration in the beginning to free translation and semantic transliteration. And the influence of the Japanese alien words on Korean and Chinese can not be ignored.
The Korean and the Chinese load words, in the course of acceptance, must go through assimilation in phonology, morphology and meaning. This can be common ground between the two.
However, the biggest difference between the Korean and the Chinese load words is that the former relies on transliteration while the latter on free translation.
Since the Korean language is ideographic, transliteration is very convenient way of introducing alien words. As a result, even if there is a word in Korean, the Korean people would like to use the alien word. This has resulted in the abuse of alien words. Although the inflow of alien words is an inevitable trend, the South Koreans should be conscious of protecting‘our own culture' when using alien words.
While the countries in the world, whose languages are phonographic, mostly use transliteration to introduce the alien words, Chinese, owing to its own characteristics, mainly adopts free translation to introduce alien words, which underlines its distinctiveness.
