The purpose of this is analysis and researches the significance of modal adverbs “never, certainly, if, absolutely, and perhaps” in Korean language and“never, certainly, if, absolutely, and perhaps” in Chinese
language. We will figure out their same parts and different points of modal adverbs in Korean language and Chinese language, and also their syntactic feature.
Korean modal adverbs are belong to sentence adverbs, they were different from modifying adverbs. Although it’s not a necessary part in the sentence but it is has the function to express people’s emotion and attitude.
So it plays an important role to help people explicit their attitude and emotion in sentence. In the point, Korean modal adverbs are very similar to Chinese one. Even though, Korean modal adverbs have closely connection
with grammar morphological, the narrative method is very good. In the opposite, Chinese modal adverbs don’t have closely connection with grammar morphological; it uses its usual meaning to express people’s rich emotion. Therefore, Korean modal adverbs always be a difficult part for Chinese learners. For the Chinese learners, the method to study Korean modal adverbs is very important. On the other hand, less learning materials is also a difficult point to Chinese learners. The majority of Chinese learners using Chinese modal adverbs to translate, it will make a lot of mistakes. As a consequence to reduce the mistakes in Korean modal
adverbs, analysis the Korean modal adverbs and making a concrete and effective plan are very necessary.
In the first chapter, I set out the purpose of this , the analysis object, function, and preceding research. The next chapter is depending on the existing research, primary to research the definition and classify of Korean modal adverbs and Chinese modal adverbs. In the third part, I select the research object of this , and meticulous comparing the Korean modal adverbs and Chinese adverbs. In this chapter, I analysis the modal adverbs depending on existing Korean language education organization, and select some high frequency modal adverbs and consult the classify of modal adverbs in Chang Young-hee (1994)to select the modal adverbs which
correspond both in Korean language education and representative modal adverbs to analysis and compare. In the fourth chapter, depending on the research in last few chapters, select some high frequency modal adverbs
which Chinese learners made mistakes to making the specific education scheme.
