A language spoken by members of a language community reflects social and cultural situation or background of its speakers. This means that the diversity and difference manifested in each language represent and record the sociocultural differences of each language community. Entering the 20th century, studies of anthropological linguistics focusing on gender and race were actively conducted, and especially sociolinguistics regarding race, region, gender, social stratification and age as 5 important factors of language change was developed. Because of those studies on how women speak, listen and recognize, the interest of genderlect focusing on gender was increased, also, researches and discussions on a female language were lively carried out in a variety of areas as women's social and political activities were assertively progressed at the beginning of the 21st century. These studies on a female language are being conducted actively not only at international societies but also Korea and China. Based on the characteristics of a female language in English suggested by many researchers, this study is intended to examine the similarities and differences of the female language in Korean and Chinese focused on expressions of color, exclamation, emotion, imperative, propositive, and terms of address. Also, this study is aimed to suggest effective strategies on teaching and learning of Korean vocabulary for Chinese learners of Korean language based on the characteristics of female language in Korean and Chinese.
