The aim of this is to make the educational method of Korean non-verbal expressions for Korean-American language learners. For this, we analyzed non-verbal expressions in Korean textbook for Korean-American learners, how they are presented in aspects and ratio on the based of the concept and sort of non-verbal expressions existing in theory and we indicated their problems. Next, we did a survey on Korean-American learners and teachers to know what they need for teaching and learning of non-verbal expressions. Based on the result of analysis and survey, we selected a list of educational non-verbal expressions for Korean-American learners and tried to suggest educational method of non-verbal expressions for Korean-American learners.

The first chapter describes the necessity of this study examining the previous studies of Korean culture & language education for Korean-American learners and non-verbal language of Korean education.

The second chapter provides theoretical background on concept and sort of non-verbal language in previous non-verbal language of Korean education studies. In addition, we described the necessity of systemic education of non-verbal language for Korean-American learners by investigating the importance of non-verbal language in second language for successful communication.

The third chapter provide fifth standards for analysis of textbooks for Korean-American learners. ; Body parts, Communicative functions, Cultural contents, picture error, teacher's teaching guidelines and learner activities. For body parts and communicative functions, we compared and analyzed the textbooks with the internal first level textbooks. For cultural contents, we analyzed in textbooks what percentage of cultural contents related to non-verbal expressions is presented beside total cultural contents and checked whether the contents is presented cross-culturally. Concerning picture errors, we found out non proper pictures with presented non-verbal expressions in the textbooks. Lastly, we checked whether the textbooks contain non-verbal expressions with teacher's teaching guidelines and learner activities. Next, we did a survey to Korean-American learners and teachers to know what their needs are for teaching and learning of Korean non-verbal expressions. Through the survey, we found out which expressions of non-verbal Korean language causes communication problems and what kinds of expressions are necessary for teaching and learning contents for Korean-American learners.

The forth chapter, based on the result of analysis and survey presented in the third chapter, we selected a list of educational non-verbal expressions for Korean-American learners and suggested educational method of non-verbal expressions which can be used in Korean classroom effectively. In the fifth chapter we summarized important parts of our study and made proposition for next studies to be carried out.

Through this study, we could find out how much Korean-American teachers and learners feel the need to educate and learn non-verbal expressions practically, but the education is almost unexistent, so we suggested educational list of non-verbal expressions based on the result of survey, and a method of teaching which can be used in classroom practically for Korean-American learners.
