The object of this study is the expression ‘-겠-’, ‘-(으)ㄹ 것이-’, which are used very often in the grammar education to represent one’s will in Korean. Although this research focuses on the corresponding expression of ‘-겠-’, ‘-(으)ㄹ 것이-’in Chinese, the identical and diverse features of the two expressions are also in the consideration. Through this study, we hope the knowledge of these expressions can come to be more clear and be helpful to the learners of Korean.
Until now, many researchers have compared the use of ‘-겠-’, ‘-(으)ㄹ 것이-’ as the presentation of will, but about how these expression are used in Chinese is not distinguished. Setting the definitions and characteristics of an expression, used to be the priority commitment of the previous studies of the expression of the will, and then subsequently expressed willingness for the characteristics of the center meaning of sentences. ‘-겠-’, ‘-(으)ㄹ 것이-’ express willingness to investigate a central feature, mainly person, tense, honorific termination type of representation, subjectivity, an idiom in terms, totally five kinds of commonalities and differences of each other are investigated. Analysis the structure of sentence, the difference of meaning based on existed studies of ‘-겠-’, ‘-(으)ㄹb것이-’,and find the corresponding Chinese expressions in more detail is the object of this study.
Again, as the words showed above, this is expected to be applied into the teaching practice of the Korean grammar, and to make the language study of Korean be more systematic and efficient.
