There are 120 foreign migrant women(FMW) from 14 countries in Korea. It ed many miserable cases of FMW, because they experience big cultural shock between their own countries and Korean way of life. Over 50% of FMS are not happy and it occurs much conflict by their own husband and family members. These sad cases are not only their private life, because miserable s of FMW to their own countries raise diplomatic problems by their government, So Korean government must support them solve their problems. The main factors of divorce are cultural shock, misunderstanding by language, poor economic condition of their husband, conflicts between families members.
This study was examined the level of marital happiness and analyze the various factors influencing on marital happiness among female marriage immigrants(FMI). Participants were 170 FMI who lived in Daejeon, Chungcheongnam-do and Chungcheongbuk-do. Data was collected using a self administrated questionnaire and a separate interview from August 15 through September 30, 2008. A x2-test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data using the SPSS 12.0 Windows. Regarding total marital happiness, the meal score was 3.59 from 5 points Likert scale. It was higher than the medium level of the scale. As the results of multiple regression analysis, the factors influencing on marriage happiness among FMI were husband's understanding and have family support in sending money to their native countries for economic assistant. The explanatory power of these variables was 77.3% which was a little low. Through the study, it was proved that husband's understanding is the most important factor impacting on marital happiness among FMI.
Local governments must organize volunteer system to support them and effective language and culture learning system. In conclusion, FMW must be perceived as Korean citizen, and local governments support them to enjoy their happy life in Korea.
The problems of immigrated women for marriage should be cope with the level of whole government. Namely, administrative and financial support from central and local government such as aid of rearing and education cost, systematic language education, and culture-adaptation training etc. are very necessary. Moreover, it is time to provide a legal and administrative system for participating in the course of Korean language and Korean culture education both in mother's country before departure and in Korea after entering in cooperation with their government.
