Currently, there are at least 1,000,000 foreign residents living in Korea, therefore, Korea is no longer a homogenous society but more of a multiculturalism society. The possibility of foreign residents living in Israel can be found in the Bible. The Bible also explains how to deal with the foreign immigrants in this multiculturalism society. In the Old Testament, ‘ger’ means a traveler, and the God says to the Israelis that they should not abuse the ‘gers’ but to treat them like orphans or widows. In the New Testament, the immigrants are treated as equally as the Israelis, and states that the immigrants can become the children of the God.
There are three reasons to why Korea became a multiculturalism society. First, the foreign immigrants naturalized into Korean citizens. Second, immigrants who seek employment in Korea became foreign workers. Lastly, international marriages brought more foreign immigrants into Korean soil. Currently, there are 9,001 naturalized citizens, and it’s increasing. Also, there are 1,175,429 foreign laborers and 216,006 illegal foreign laborers. 120,705 people have migrated to Korea to find their spouse, and they have developed multiculturalism in their home.
Foreign immigrants in Korea experience many difficulties. First, they experience difficulties due to different cultures especially they have a hard time communicating with others because of the language difference. Second, economic is poor. Guest workers did not receive wages for a long time. International marriages and the multiculturalism family lead which formed 52.9% living in the lowest class. Third, human rights infringement is the case of discrimination. Korea comes from the country which poor with reason to be caused by and the foreigner immigrants many parties are discriminating and disregard from the Korean society. Also the children, who the multiculturalism family not only the marriage emigration person is born in case in between them with leaving out from the school, disregards and the party is not adapted to a school life the case is often. Educational is a problem of the multiculturalism family children where the rough time is like this last rightly. These people are not adapted to a school life well enough, not only in the Korean language ability tribes to be caused by stupidity with falls down and plentifully, there is a case which throws away.
The Korean churches grasp this problem and respect from the dimension which is evangelism about the God country to plant the identity as the children of desire and the God, the consultation which is a professional dimension which the human rights lead and to take back the psychological stability of the foreign immigrants. The Korean citizens and the foreign immigrants will be able to understand each other logically, and must help these people. Also, Korean cultural education leads and the foreign immigrants pull down the language, a cultural barrier and could be adapted to the Korean society well in order, they must help, respect the multiculturalism family children to operate the classroom after dismissal of a class. They must help their education.

현재 한국에 거주하고 있는 외국인 거주자가 100만 명 이상으로, 한국사회는 더 이상 단일 민족사회가 아닌 다문화 사회를 형성하고 있다. 성서에서도 이스라엘 백성들 가운데 거하고 있는 외국인 이주자들이 있음을 알 수 있다. 이러한 다문화적 상황 속에서 성서에서는 외국인 이주자들을 어떻게 대해야 하는지 기록하고 있다. 구약성서에서는 외국인 이주자들, 즉 나그네라는 뜻의 ‘게르’인 자들을 위해서 하나님께서는 이스라엘 백성들에게 그들을 학대하지 말고 고아나 과부처럼 돌보아 주라고 말씀하신다. 신약 성서에서는 외국인 이주자들도 이스라엘 백성과 동일하게 구원의 대상이 되며, 하나님의 자녀가 될 수 있다고 말하고 있다.
한국 사회가 다문화 사회가 된, 그 형성 원인에는 크게 3가지로 나눠볼 수 가 있다. 첫째, 귀화를 통해 외국인들이 한국사회로 편입된 경우이며, 둘째 산업 연수생이라는 이름을 가지고 일자리를 찾아 한국 땅으로 들어온 외국인 노동자의 경우이다. 마지막으로 국제결혼을 통하여 한국사회 일원으로 편입된 경우가 있다. 현재, 귀화자는 9,001명으로 계속해서 늘어가고 있는 상황이다. 또한 외국인 노동자들은 1,175,429명이며 이 중 불법체류자는 216,006명이나 된다. 이밖에 국제결혼을 통해 한국 사회로 편입된 결혼 이민자들은 120,705명으로 이들을 통해 다문화 가정이 형성 되었다.
외국인 이주자들은 한국사회로 이주하여 살면서, 많은 난항을 겪고 있다. 첫째, 본국과는 다른 문화차이로 인해 난항을 겪고 있다. 특별히 언어차이로 인한 의사소통의 어려움 때문에 많은 난항을 겪고 있다. 둘째, 경제적인 빈곤이다. 외국인 노동자들은 오랫동안 임금을 받지 못하는 경우도 있으며, 한국의 일반 노동자들보다 훨씬 더 적은 임금을 받고 있다. 국제결혼을 통해 형성된 다문화 가정도 52.9%가 최저빈곤층으로 살고 있다. 셋째, 인권침해와 차별의 경우이다. 한국보다 더 못사는 나라에서 왔다는 이유로 인해 외국인 이주자들은 한국 사회에서 많은 차별과 무시를 당하고 있다. 다문화 가정의 경우에도 결혼 이민자뿐만 아니라 그들 사이에 태어난 아이들도 학교에서 따돌림과 무시를 당해서 학교생활에 적응하지 못하는 경우가 많다. 마지막 난항은, 바로 이러한 다문화 가정 자녀들의 교육문제이다. 이들은 학교생활에 잘 적응하지 못할 뿐만 아니라 한국어 능력 부족으로 인해 부진아로 전락해 버리는 경우가 많이 있다.
이러한 문제들을 한국교회는 파악하고 이들을 위해, 복음전도적인 차원에서 하나님 나라에 대한 소망과 하나님의 자녀로서의 정체성을 심어주고, 인권적인 차원에서 전문적인 상담을 통해 외국인 이주자들의 심리적 안정을 되찾아주고 한국 시민과 외국인 이주자들이 서로 이해할 수 있도록 도와야 한다. 또한 한국 문화 교육을 통해 외국인 이주자들이 언어적, 문화적 장벽을 허물고 한국사회에 잘 적응 할 수 있도록 도와야 하며, 다문화 가정 자녀들을 위해 방과 후 교실을 운영하며, 그들의 교육을 도와야 한다. 이러한 한국 교회의 다문화 사회속 에서의 선교는, 한국사회에 거주하고 있는 많은 외국인 이주자들이 복음을 받아들이고 하나님의 자녀로서 살아갈 수 있도록 돕게 되며, 여러 나라에 복음을 전할 수 있는 선교적 기회를 마련하게 될 것이다.
