알타이 어족에 속하는 한국어를 어족이 다르거나 비슷한 언어들과 비교한 연구들이 그 동안 이루어져 왔다. 이 경향은 같은 알타이 어족에 해당하는 한국어와 우즈베크어에서 나타난 동양권인 두 나라의 사고방식을 비교해 보는 흥미를 강렬하게 한다. 서로의 언어를 배우려는 학습자들이 늘어가는 추세이므로 우즈베크인 한국어 학습자들에게 목적어에서 표현되는 사고방식과 목적어에서의 언어 표현 및 그것의 문화적 배경에 대한 정보를 제공해야 하는 필요가 있다.
본 논문에서 연구 대상에 해당하는 여성 속담의 자료는 두 나라의 대표적 속담집에서 수집되었다. 속담과 여성 속담의 개념을 정리하고, 여성 속담을 세가지의 측면, 즉 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 측면의 범주로 분류하면서 비교해보았다. 각 범주 안에서 여성 속담의 내용적인 측면, 표현적인 측면, 그리고 문화적 자원적인 측면에서의 유사점와 차이점을 검토해 보았다. 각 범주에서 밝혀진 비교 분석 결과를 바탕으로 그에 대한 설명을 하여 나갔다.
본 논문의 주요한 기여는 두 나라의 오랜 세월에 걸쳐 형성되어 온 속담을 비교함으로써 여성의 가족에서의 역할, 나아가 사회에서의 역할을 이해하도록한다. 여성이 화제가 된 속담들이 여성에 대한 의식의 의미 있는 분석을 제공하기 위하여 여성을 단지 혼자로서의 인물로만 아니라, 다른 사람들과의 관계 에서도 살펴보았다. 끝으로, 이 논문에서 언급된 두 나라 속담과 분석 결과의 제공이 언어 비교에 관심이 있는 분들에게 귀중한 통찰이 되기를 기대한다.

Several studies that compared Altaic language group's Korean with languages of the same or different language groups have been conducted over the past years. This trend intensifies the zest for comparing the way of thinking that appears in these oriental languages both of which belong to the Altaic language group. The increasing number of learners of each language creates the need for providing Uzbek learners of Korean with information about the way of thinking expressed in their target language, language expressions in the target language and their cultural background.
In this thesis, data of proverbs that comprise the object of the study are collected from representative proverb collections of both countries After defining the notion of a proverb and a proverb about females, I proceed to compare proverbs about females classifying them into three major groups of aspects, physical, mental, and social aspects. In each group, similarities and differences of proverbs about females are studied according to their content, the way of expressing, and cultural background. The results of comparative analysis and explanations are provided in each group.
The major contribution of this thesis is its furthering of the understanding of women's role in the family and society, through comparing proverbs that formed during a long period of time. Proverbs involving woman as their main topic not only consider women as an individual being but also observe them in relation with other people to provide a meaningful analysis of consciousness about women. In addition to the results that I present, I expect the provision of proverbs of the two countries and comparative analysis of proverbs to be a valuable insight for others who are interested in comparison of languages.
