‘웰빙’에 이어 등장한 ‘힐링’이라는 키워드는 거의 모든 서비스 영역의 수식어로 각광받았다. ‘웰빙’과 ‘힐링’이라는 키워드의 유행은 신자유주의 사회의 피로감으로부터 몸과 마... ‘웰빙’에 이어 등장한 ‘힐링’이라는 키워드는 거의 모든 서비스 영역의 수식어로 각광받았다. ‘웰빙’과 ‘힐링’이라는 키워드의 유행은 신자유주의 사회의 피로감으로부터 몸과 마음의 휴식과 치유에 대한 욕구가 사회전반에 나타난 것으로 해석할 수 있을 것이다. 여행과 목욕을 통한 쉼, 이것이 가장 잘 나타나있는 장소가 온천이라고 할 수 있다. 국내의 온천리조트들은 이용시설의 설립 시기가 오래된 것이 많아 시설이 낙후됨에 따라 점차 이용객이 줄어들고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 정부에서도 온천의 활성화를 위해 여러 연구와 조사를 통해 노력을 기울이고 있다. 현재 국내 온천시설은 크게 보양온천과 워터파크 형식의 테마온천의 두 가지 방향으로 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 보양온천은 온천을 이용한 건강증진을, 테마온천은 놀이공간으로서의 온천을 강조하고 있다. 이 두 가지 유형은 낙후된 온천리조트의 개선과 활성화라는 과제에서 대표적인 과업으로 제시되고 있지만 이것은 훨씬 다수를 차지하는 일반 온천의 활성화와는 연관성이 적다고 볼 수 있다. 따라서 현재 국내 온천리조트들의 정책과 사업은 보양온천과 테마온천으로 편중되어있으며, 휴식과 재충전을 목적으로 하는 일반 온천 대한 개선과 발전에 대한 연구가 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 온천리조트에 대한 변화된 여가트렌드를 분석하고 그에 대한 결론을 건축적으로 제시한 온천리조트의 설계안을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 본론에 해당하는 내용은 크게 이론적 배경과 설계프로젝트 제안으로 나뉜다. 이론적 배경은 다시 여가공간과 여가트렌드에 대한 내용, 국내 온천리조트의 역사적 배경과 현황을 분석하는 내용으로 나누어 볼 수 있다. 설계 프로젝트는 이론적 배경의 내용을 바탕으로 하는데, 프로젝트에 반영되는 주요한 여가트렌드의 내용은 개인화와 사사화, O-STOP/ O-DAY, 합리적 럭셔리가 있다. 이 세 가지 트렌드는 본 연구의 설계안에서 프로그램으로 환원되며 스트리트 몰, 호텔, 스파 공간으로 제시된다. 본 연구의 의의는 온천리조트들의 개발과 개선에 대한 연구에 있어 보양온천과 테마온천 이외의 제안을 통해 다양한 대안을 제시하고자 한 데 있다. 온천리조트의 활성화에 있어 여러 규모와 프로그램을 다룬 다양한 건축적 연구들이 지속되기를 바란다.

The prevalence in the key words dubbed 'wellbeing' and 'healing' will be able to be analyzed to have been shown a desire in the whole society for the rest and the healing of the body and the mind from a fatigue of neoliberal society. A place that this, namely, a rest through travel and bath, is shown the most can be said to be hot spring. The domestically spa resorts are in the real situation of being gradually decreased users according to the falling behind facilities because there are many utility facilities with the long establishment period. Accordingly, even the government is making an effort for the activation of hot spring through many researches and surveys. The domestic spa facilities for now are being developed largely in two directions of the health seeking spa and the theme spa in the form of water park. It is being emphasized the health promotion of using the hot spring as for the health seeking spa and the spa as the play space as for the theme spa. These two types are being suggested as a representative duty in a task dubbed the improvement and the activation in a deteriorated spa resort. But this can be considered to have little correlation with the invigoration in general spa of possessing majority a lot. Accordingly, a policy and a project for the currently domestic spa resorts are biased to the health seeking spa and the theme spa. It is the real situation of being lacking in a research on improvement and development in general spa with the aim of rest and recharging. Hence, this study aims to propose a design plan for spa resort, which suggested the conclusion on it architecturally with analyzing a changed leisure trend in spa resort. The contents of corresponding to the point of this study are divided largely into the theoretical background and the design-project proposal. The theoretical background can be seen with being divided again into the contents on leisure space and leisure trend and the contents on the historical background and the present status of the domestic spa resorts. The design project is based on the contents of theoretical background. The major leisure-trend contents of being reflected in the project include individualization, privatization, O-STOP/ O-DAY, and rational luxury. These three trends are restored to a program within the design and are presented as street mall, hotel, and spa space. A significance in this study is put in proposing diverse alternative plans through a suggestion other than the health seeking spa and the theme spa in a research on the development and the improvement in spa resorts.
