음향 효과는 기술의 진보와 함께 다양한 방향으로 발전되어왔다. 일반적으로 음향 효과 기기는 악기와 음성을 보조한다. 이러한 음향 효과는 점차 변화하고 나아가 악기의 특성을 변화시키... 음향 효과는 기술의 진보와 함께 다양한 방향으로 발전되어왔다. 일반적으로 음향 효과 기기는 악기와 음성을 보조한다. 이러한 음향 효과는 점차 변화하고 나아가 악기의 특성을 변화시키고, 작곡가만의 창의적인 사운드 디자인을 가능하게 해주는 역할까지 하게 되었다. 영국 출신 일렉트로닉 음악가인 제임스 블레이크(James Blake)는 자신의 음악을 통하여 이러한 음향 효과의 새로운 활용방안을 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 ‘The Wilhelm Scream’과 ‘Limit To Your Love’에 나타난 스테레오 이미지와 공간계 음향 효과의 변화에 따른 곡의 전개와 사운드 메이킹을 분석한다. 이렇게 분석한 내용을 자작곡 ‘Bad Drive’에 적용한다. 또한 추가적으로 필터 시퀀서와 리버브를 활용한 보컬 샘플링, 브레이크 비트와 아르페지에이터를 활용한 리듬패턴 제작, 신디사이저를 통한 리드, 패드, 베이스 음색 제작과 bpm의 변화를 통한 힙합과 일렉트로닉 음악의 요소의 활용, 음향 효과를 활용한 사운드 메이킹과 곡의 전개의 활용방안을 제시한다. 키워드: 제임스 블레이크 , 음향 효과

Generally, sound effects assist musical instrument and vocal sound quality. As sound effect technology transforms and changes, the general characteristics of musical instruments have also changed; this process enables music composers to design and incorporate creative sounds into their work. Through his musical repertoire, British electronic musician James Blake demonstrates this new way of sound effect application. In this study, two songs, 'The Wilhelm Scream' and 'Limit To Your Love', will be examined in order to analyze the coordinated development of song and sound effect in accordance with the transformation of stereo image and time-based process. The content analyzed will be re-applied and incorporated into a self-made song entitled 'Bad Drive'.
