솔라 필즈의 ‘Swimming with Stones’를 통해 본 음악 제작 연구 - 자작곡 ‘심야극장’을 중심으로 - 솔라 필즈(Solar Fields)는 신디사이져 활용을 통한 개성적인 사운드로 많은 사랑을 받고 있... 솔라 필즈의 ‘Swimming with Stones’를 통해 본 음악 제작 연구 - 자작곡 ‘심야극장’을 중심으로 - 솔라 필즈(Solar Fields)는 신디사이져 활용을 통한 개성적인 사운드로 많은 사랑을 받고 있는 스웨덴의 아티스트이며, 그의 곡들은 전자음악계에서 많은 주목을 받고 있다. 본 논문은 솔라 필즈의 초기 작품인 《Blue Moon Station》 앨범 중 ‘Swimming with Stones’에서 나타나는 음악적 특징을 분석하고 분석된 결과를 자작곡으로 구현한다. 분석 방법으로는 선율, 리듬과 템포, 화성, 효과음의 특징을 분석하며, 특히 효과음은 스펙트로그램(Spectrogram)을 통하여 제작기법을 분석한다. 연구 결과, 선행 연구 곡의 전반적으로 나타나는 산발적인 선율의 형태와 아르페지오 형태를 자작곡에 적용한다. 또한 선행 연구곡에 나타난 자유로운 성부 진행을 통해 발생된 화성을 적용하여, 독특한 화성을 전개한다. 그리고 선행 연구곡의 여러 음고가 동시에 큰 폭으로 변화하는 효과음과 트레몰로를 사용한 효과음을 분석 적용하여, 저주파 발진기(Low Frequency Oscillator)를 통하여 음고와 음량을 변형시켜 자작곡의 효과음을 제작한다. 더 나아가 감산합성, 링 모듈레이션, 웨이브테이블 합성, 주파수 변조 합성, 그래뉼러 합성을 통하여 자작곡의 효과음을 제작한다. 키워드: 솔라 필즈, 신디사이져, 신시사이져, 저주파 발진기(LFO)

Music Production Using Solar Fields’ Music Production Techniques - Focusing on the Original Composition, ‘Midnight Theater’ - Solar Fields is a Swedish artist who is loved for his unique sound that makes use of synthesizers, and his tunes have received much attention in the electronic music scene. In order to study and apply the music production method used by Solar Fields, this study analyzes the musical characteristics of ‘Swimming with Stones’ from his album 《Blue Moon Station》. The characteristics were then applied to music composed by the author of this study. The method of analysis focuses on the characteristics of melody, rhythm, tempo, harmony, and sound effects, examining the production techniques through spectrogram of sound effects. In addition to this analysis, the study further applies sporadic melody forms and arpeggio forms widely occurring in the analyzed music to the author-composed music. By applying concept of harmony that has generated by free part writing, the study is able to use unique harmonic progression and has developed this in the author-composed music. The study further analyzes the sound effects that use simultaneously variating pitch and tremolo to produce sound effects for the author-composed music by changing pitch and volume through low-frequency oscillator(LFO).
