20세기 60년대말 중국 문화대혁명시기에 은승종(殷承宗), 저망화(储望华), 성례홍(盛礼洪), 유장(刘庄) 등은 승성혜(冼星海)의《황하대합창(黄河大合唱)》에 근거하여 ... 20세기 60년대말 중국 문화대혁명시기에 은승종(殷承宗), 저망화(储望华), 성례홍(盛礼洪), 유장(刘庄) 등은 승성혜(冼星海)의《황하대합창(黄河大合唱)》에 근거하여 피아노 협주곡《황하(黃河)》를 편곡하였고, 그것을 1970년에 초연하였는데, 당시에 엄청난 센세이션을 불러일으켰다.“문화대혁명”이 끝난 뒤로 현재까지 국내는 물론, 국외와 홍콩 그리고 대만 등지에서 지속적으로 연출되어 왔으며, 현재 20세기 중국 피아노 협주곡 가운데 최다의 공연 기록을 세웠을 뿐만 아니라 출판된 악보와 음반의 수량 면에서도 역시 최고의 기록을 세웠다. 이러한 사실은 피아노 협주곡《황하》가 가장 널리 보급된 작품이라는 사실을 말해줄 뿐만 아니라, 작품의 중요한 지위와 역사발전에 대한 영향력, 그리고 음악계와 대중사회가 그 작품에 대하여 얼마나 중시하는지를 방증하는 것이다. 음악은 인류문화의 범주에 속하기 때문에 음악과 음악작품의 본질을 탐구한 뒤 만일 그 속에 간직된 오묘함을 드러내고자 한다면 반드시 그것을 문화의 영역 속으로 환원시켜야 한다는 사실을 발견하게 된다. 그러므로 본 고에서는 종래 진행되어온 국한된 연구방법과 사고방식에서 벗어나 보다 다른 시각, 즉 서로 다른 각도의 연구 방법과 여타 학문의 종합적인 연구 방법을 채용하여 피아노 협주곡 《황하》에 대하여 보다 심층적인 연구를 진행하였다. 이로 인하여, 본 연구에서는 피아노 협주곡 《황하》에 대하여 네 가지 측면으로 연구를 진행하였다. 첫째, 창작방면으로서 악곡의 “창작배경”, “창작기초”, “창작과정” 등을 살핌으로써 본 작품의 창작과 관련된 정황과 특징 등을 밝히기 위한 논의를 진행하였다. 둘째, 비교학의 각도로 출발하여 피아노 협주곡 《황하》와 《황하대합창》을 종래의 방법과는 다른 시각으로 비교를 하였으며, 나아가 이 작품의 톡특성에 대하여 논의를 하였다. 셋째, 예술적인 특징 면으로 접근하여 피아노 협주곡 《황하》 제 1악장에 대하여 조망하였는데, 특히 작품의 전체적인 구조와 스타일을 파악함으로써 작품의 예술적 특색에 대하여 비교적 심도있게 다루었다. 넷째, 작품이 함유하고 있는 문화적 의미와 역사적 의미에 대하여 심층적으로 논의를 진행하였다. 이와 같이 피아노 협주곡 《황하》에 대한 다각적인 조망을 통하여 얻어낸 분석 결과와 상세한 논술은 향후 이 악곡을 쉽게 이해하고 감상할 수 있게 하는 하나의 지침서로서 기능할 수 있을 것이다. 아울러 이 작품이 중국음악사에서 어느 정도 중요한 역사적인 위치에 있는지 정의를 내릴 수 있게 될 뿐만 아니라 이 작품을 연주하고 이해하며 연구하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있으리라 기대된다.
