이 論文은 文學著作 내의 漢字를 분석하고, 이를 토대로 체계적이고 효과적인 漢字 지도방법을 모색하는 데에 있다. 이러한 硏究는 학생들이 문학작품에서 쓰인 한자의 중요성을 알고, 효과적으로 학습하며, 작품을 올바로 이해하는데 도움을 주기 위해서이다. 결과적으로 국어생활 속의 漢字에 대한 관심을 높이고 漢字語彙能力이 伸張되는 것을 目的으로 한다.
국어의 語彙는 固有語, 漢字語, 外來語의 세 가지 유형으로 구성되어 있다. 그 중 漢字語는 우리말 어휘의 過半數 以上을 차지하고 있으며, 日常的인 用語 외의 專門用語와 學術用語의 한자어 비중은 90%에 가깝다. 漢字語는 새로운 개념이나 略語를 만들어 내는데 있어서 편리한 면을 가지고 있으므로 지금도 유지되고 있으며, 앞으로도 계속 生成될 것이다. 이러한 언어 현실을 고려해 볼 때, 국어에서 漢字語彙를 전부 몰아내고, 固有語로 대체할 수는 없으며, 대체한다 해도 단기간에 이루어질 수 있는 일은 아니다. 따라서 한자어휘를 제대로 지도하는 것은 언어교육의 중요한 임무이다.
漢字의 장점은 視覺性, 造語力, 縮約力 등에 있다. 즉 한자는 表意文字이기 때문에 순간적이고 직접적인 전달과 이해가 가능하다. 또한 造語力이 뛰어나 우리말 語彙部를 풍부하게 하며, 縮約力이 강해 표현 면에서 경제적이다.
이처럼 漢字語彙가 차지하는 比重과 漢字가 지닌 文字的 長點을 살펴볼 때, 이를 교육하기 위한 효과적인 지도방안의 요구된다.
본 硏究는 高等學校 國語敎育에 있어서 효과적인 漢字敎育에 관한 것이다. 한자교육을 竝行한 국어교육은 학생들의 語彙能力 伸張에 긍정적인 영향을 줄 것이라는 전제하에 효과적인 지도 방법을 모색한다. 본 연구에서는 국어교육과 밀접한 관련을 가진 문학교과서 내 한자를 연구대상으로 한다.
우리말에서 차지하는 漢字의 비중과 그 중요성에 비해 지금까지 言語政策은 일관성이 결여되어 왔고, 국어교육에서 漢字 指導는 소홀히 다루어졌다. 그로 인해 학생들은 漢字를 기피하고 두려워하고 있다. 국어 수업에서 그나마 이루어지고 있는 漢字指導는 漢字를 고려하지 않은 단순한 어휘풀이에 그치고 있는 실정이다.
이러한 한자 어휘지도의 방법은 학생들로 하여금 국어나 문학 수업에 흥미를 잃게 한다. 또한 의미의 정확한 이해와 표현 능력을 저하시켜 국어 과목이 도구교과로서의 기능을 발휘하지 못하게 한다. 특히 ‘한자는 어렵다, 배우지 않아도 된다’는 식의 漢字에 대한 인식 부족은 결과적으로 思考力의 低下, 學習能力의 부진, 漢字로 표기된 글읽기의 기피 현상, 이로 인한 독서 수준의 질적 저하와 語彙擴張의 부진 현상을 초래한다. 그러므로 국어과 교사들은 한자지도의 필요성을 직시하고 한자어휘 지도에 소홀해서는 안 될 것이다.

This research sets up a purpose for analysis Chinese letters in the literature works and for finding systematic and effective teaching ways of Chinese letter education. And the research sets up a purpose for students' understanding the importance of Chinese letters in the literature works and studying through effective way of learning and giving a advice to understand the literature works correctly. Therefore, aim of the research is increasing the interests of Chinese letters in the Korean language discourse and expansion of Chinese letters using faculty.
Korean vocabulary is made of original lexicon, Chinese lexicon and borrowing lexicon. Among them Chinese letters occupies more than half of Korean vocabulary. And percentage of Chinese letters in using of professional and academic field is more than 90% except for daily discourse. Chinese letters have advantages in making a new concept and abbreviation. So Chinese letters are maintaining and making new words. Considering these language circumstances, it is impossible to replace Chinese vocabularies into Korean original lexicons in a short period. Therefore, language education's important role is teaching Chinese vocabularies correctly.
Chinese letters' advantages are visual literacy, word formation and retrenchment. In other words, Chinese letters are phonetic representation language. Therefore Chinese letters can make instantaneously delivery and direct understanding. Because Chinese letters' word formation is outstanding, they make Korean letters rich. And because Chinese letters' retrenchment is so strong, they show us efficiency.
Considering Chinese letters' high occupying in Korean vocabulary and language advantages like this, effective teaching plans are requested.
This research sets up a purpose for effective Chinese letter education in high school Korean language education. Korean language education with Chinese letter education will give positive influences to students in vocabulary expansion. Therefore it is requested to find effective teaching ways. This research make an object scientific study to the Chinese letters in the literature textbooks which is related with Korean language education.
Nevertheless Chinese letters' occupying in Korean words and importance are useful, language policy hasn't shown consistency and Chinese letters education has treated lightly in Korean language education. Therefore, students avoid Chinese letters and afraid of it. Chinese letters teaching is restricted to explaining vocabulary in Korean language class.
These Chinese vocabulary guide make students lose their interests in Korean language class and literature class. Also, it lowers correct meaning understanding and presentation faculty. And it makes Korean language class cannot make a role as an instrument subject. Especially the ideas of ‘Chinese letters are difficult to understand.’, ‘It is useless to learn Chinese letters.’ make students' thinking power drop and learning competence drop and avoidance article contain Chinese letters. And it makes reading level drop and lacking of vocabulary expansion. Therefore Korean language teachers must recognize Chinese letter's necessity and make a effort Chinese vocabulary teaching.
