인간이 산업문명에 들어서면서 사회의 발전으로 인한 환경 악화는 21세기 인류에게 심각한 문제로 나타난다. 이에 대해 인류는 ‘인문정신의 반성’을 진행하여 인간과 자연의 관계를 조정... 인간이 산업문명에 들어서면서 사회의 발전으로 인한 환경 악화는 21세기 인류에게 심각한 문제로 나타난다. 이에 대해 인류는 ‘인문정신의 반성’을 진행하여 인간과 자연의 관계를 조정하고 자연으로 되돌아가며 애초의 순박함과 본성으로 돌아갈 필요가 있다. 본인을 현대 사회를 살아가며 인성의 회귀(回歸)에 대하여 생각하였고 고전원림에 주목하였다. 고전원림은 자연을 숭상하고 천인합일(天人合一)과 사법자연(師法自然)의 철학을 담고 있기 때문이다. 중국의 고전원림(古典園林)은 중국 전통 문화의 중요한 구성요소이다. 사대부의 은일문화(隱逸文化)가 형성되기 시작한 위진남북조시대부터 발달되었다. 고전 원림은 고대 문인들의 지혜를 반영할 뿐만 아니라 우주관·자연관·인생관 그리고 시·서·화 예술이 포함되어 있다. 회화 유파가 많이 모인 강남지역에서 원림은 산수화의 맥락에 따라 발전해 온 것이고 둘 사이는 긴밀한 관계가 있다. 본인은 고전원림 건축을 주제로 창작을 하였는데, 대부분 원림건축 중 가산(假山), 정자, 담장, 복도 중점적으로 묘사하였다. 건축은 사람의 생활공간이고, 사람의 우주관과 철학관도 집중적으로 나타난다. 본 논문은 중국 고전 원림건축의 의경(意境)과 정신적 함의를 연구하여 본인 작품의 이론적 기틀을 마련하는데 있다. 또한 이러한 고전 원림을 소재로 하는 본인의 작품을 분석함으로써 작품제작의 의의를 찾고자 한다. 본 연구자의 작품은 크게 세 가지로 구분해 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 중국의 문인 시사(詩詞)와 산수화론 연계시켜 원림건축 속의 의경(意境)과 공간의식에 대한 이론적 배경에 대해 분석하였다. 둘째, 도연명(陶淵明)의 ‘도화원(桃花源)’식 거주환경을 추구하는 목적으로 출발하고자 원림 건축회화를 결합시켜 원림의 내재적 정신함의를 탐구하였다. 또한 곽희(郭熙)가 산수화론에서 제시한 '가유가거(可游可居)' 사상을 통해 문인의 시적인 거주에 대한 바람을 반영하였다. 자연과 인간의 융합하는 ‘천인합일’의 자연관을 인식하여, 작품에 원림은 이상 속의 도화원 이미지로 현실적과 비현실적으로 표현하였다. 화면에 의도적으로 유원자(遊園者)를 표현하여 인간의 주관성, 인간과 자연의 융합을 강조하였다. 셋째, 작품은 수묵(水墨)으로 표현하여, 묵법(墨法)표현의 대한 내용을 연구하고 화면에서 적절하게 이용하였다. 묵법을 더 모색 하여 수성화(水性化)의 필묵으로 표현한 방식은 연구자의 작품의 특징으로 보여주고 있다. 본인의 작품이 감상자로 하여금 고전 원림의 모습에 감화되어 인성의 회귀를 불러 일으켰으면 하는 바람을 갖는다.

It is necessary to conduct arbitration between human and nature by self-reflecting about humanistic spirit to go back to simplicity and human nature. I have thought about humanistic spirit and have paid attention to classical gardens because the classical gardens respect the nature and have the philosophy of the union of nature and human, and that of making the nature our teacher. The Classical gardens of China contain a few important elements of Chinese tradition. They have developed since the age of the camp Nambukjjo when the seclusion culture began to be formed by noblemen. The Classical gardens reflect not only the wisdom of ancient writers, but also their view of space, that of nature and that of life, their poems, their style of penmanship, and their pictures of that time. The Classical gardens in Kangnam district, where many artists used to live, have developed with the right context of the landscapes and there is a close association between the landscapes and the classical gardens. I painted my picture based on the classical garden buildings which show artificial mountains, pavilions, walls, and corridors. The buildings show the view of space and philosophy of the time because they are living places for those who live at the time. This thesis aims to study the artistic conception of the classical gardens and psychological undertone of those so that I could build the theoretical basis for my work. By analyzing my work which I took advantage of the classical gardens for, I seek the significance of my work. My work consists of three kinds of elements. First, I analyzed the theoretical background about the artistic conception and consciousness of space in the classical garden buildings by connecting the poetry and landscape theory of the artists of China. Second, I researched the psychological undertone of the classical gardens by connecting the architecture and paintings to aim to seek the same living environment in another world of Tao Yuan Ming. I also reflected the desire of poetic life through the thought of a life of leisure in the nature which was suggested in the landscape theory by Guo Xi. With the awareness of the union between nature and man, I reflected realistic and unrealistic images of another world in the classical garden of my work. I emphasized the union of man and nature and man's subjectivity by showing a person who is taking a walk in the garden of my work on purpose. Third, I created the image with ink painting, and I studied the technique for using ink painting and used the technique for my work properly. The method of expression by using brushes and ink painting is the distinctive characteristic of my work.
