On the basis of analyzing on the comparison between Chinese color word formation and Korean color word formation and analytically comparing on the extensive cultural symbolic meaning, it can more directly and clearly narrate on the identity and discrepancy of color word in both languages. The modern color word bears various profound cultural symbols; it not only exists as the description of color, but also a kind of language which can express emotions in daily life. What’s more, it is the cultural carrier of a nation and possesses both historical and real meanings. Basing on the three primary colors, the thesis expounds the common meaning and individual meaning of color word in both countries through practical examples, and then it has been found by comparison that there exists great identity and some discrepancies in color recognitions of two countries for the similar location and historical and cultural background.
