본고는 현대 한국어의 강조표현에 관한 연구를 통해 외국어로서 한국어를 배우고자 하는 외국인들에게 강조표현 방식에 대한 효율적인 습득 방법을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 본고에서는 ... 본고는 현대 한국어의 강조표현에 관한 연구를 통해 외국어로서 한국어를 배우고자 하는 외국인들에게 강조표현 방식에 대한 효율적인 습득 방법을 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 본고에서는 현대 한국어의 강조표현이 문법적 규칙성을 찾기 어렵고 하나의 실현 층위가 아닌 다양한 실현 층위를 갖고 있는 현상에 대하여 체계적으로 이해하는 데 필요한 기본 규칙을 제시하고자 하였다. 본고에서는 현대 한국어의 강조표현, 강조(강조법)에 관한 사전적 정의를 살피고, 기존 학자들이 이에 대해 제시한 주장을 검토하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 재논의를 하였다. 현대 한국어에서 다양한 방법으로 실현되는 강조표현의 실현 양상을 살펴 체계화하고, 형태·통사론적 분석 방법을 적용하여 강조표현의 특성을 규명하고자 하였다. 주로 현대 한국어의 강조표현의 실현 층위로는 운소인 길이, 높이, 세기 등에 의한 음운적 층위, 반복합성어 등에 의한 어휘적 층위, 강세의 뜻을 지닌 파생접사에 의한 파생적 층위, 어미 결합 등에 의한 굴곡적 층위와 통사론적 구성 변화에 의한 통사적 층위로 실현되는데, 이들 층위에서 어떤 방식으로 실현되는지를 탐구하고자 하였다. 그리고 강조법을 실현하는 언어 외적인 방식으로, 강조를 표현하는 몸짓 말과 문장부호, 시각적인 강조 등의 방법이 있는데, 이에 관하여서도 체계적으로 논의하고자 하였다. 현대 한국어의 강조표현 실현 방법의 특징은 다음과 같다. 각 실현 방법 중 음운적 층위에서의 강조표현은 주로 발화자의 말소리 세기, 길이, 높이에 의해 실현되며, 이에 관하여 논의하였다. 강조표현에서 가장 많이 실현되는 층위인 어휘적 방법은 강조표현을 나타낼 어휘 성분이 반복되거나, 강조 기능을 가지고 있는 부사나 접속부사의 사용으로 이루어지는 특징을 나타내었다. 파생적 층위에서의 강조표현은 강세의 의미 자질을 포함하고 있는 파생접두사나 파생접미사를 덧붙이거나, 자음교체나 모음교체를 통해 실현하는 내적 파생의 방식을 통해 실현되었다. 굴곡적 층위에서의 강조표현은 조사와 어미를 덧붙이는 방법으로 실현되었다. 어미로 실현된 표현은 끝맺은 문장 뒤에 접속어미가 결합하는 경우와 끝맺은 문장 뒤에 다시 의향어미가 결합하는 방식이다. 통사적 층위에서의 강조표현은 구성성분의 이동, 반복 및 생략 등에 방법으로 실현되었다. 구성성분의 이동에서는 주어, 목적어, 부사어를 이동하는 방법과 동일한 뜻을 가지고 있는 구성성분을 반복해서 강조시키는 방법이다. 언어 외적인 층위에서는 몸짓 말, 시각적인 방법과 문장 부호를 통해 강조표현이 실현되었다. 마지막으로 각 강조표현에 관한 실현 방법의 특징을 정리를 하였다.
