In recent years, study of the Korean language by non-Koreans has increased. This study examined the Korean language fluency characteristics of native Chinese and English speakers in relation to their native language and Korean proficiency level. Participants were evaluated for speaking, reading and writing rates, as well as for frequency of errors and speech disfluencies and types of errors and speech disfluencies. Results revealed that proficiency level has a stronger influence than native language on Korean learners’ fluency characteristics. Also of particular interest was the presence of interjection and repetition disfluencies for all proficiency levels during speaking tasks. The prevalence of these time-earning devices suggests that proficiency level has a stronger positive effect on reading and writing than on speaking. Looking forward, it is expected that this research can have predictive value for the communication characteristics of Korean language learners, regardless of background, and can ultimately provide foundational data for effecting improvements in the general communication ability of Korean language learners. ,韩语论文,韩语论文网站 |
