한류문화는 아시아뿐만 아니라 전 세계적으로 영향을 주었다. 그 중에서도 특히 중국에 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 한국 문화 상품은 90년대 양국 수교 이후로 퍼져나갔다. 수많은 한국의 문화 상품이 중국으로 진출하면서 중국에서 "한류열풍"을 만들어 냈다. 2003년 한국드라마가 중국에서 방영되고 난 후부터 지금까지 중국의 34개 성급행정구역에서 한국 드라마를 방영하고 있다.
본 연구는 한류의 기원을 알아보고 한류 열풍이 중국에서 어떤 영향력이 있는지에 대한 선행 검토를 하였다. 많은 자료와 데이터를 정리한 결과, 중국 시청자들의 한국드라마 수용상황은 다른 나라보다 훨씬 더 유리했다. 그리고 중국의 내재적인 환경요인과 한국드라마의 내재적인 요인을 통해 한류문화가 짧은 시간 동안 중국대륙과 홍콩, 대만 등의 지역에서 큰 인기를 얻고 있다. 중국 방송환경의 급속한 변화와 한국드라마가 내재적으로 갖고 있는 독특한 인간적, 예술적, 윤리적인 매력 때문에 중국시청자들에게 강한 인상을 주고 있다.
본 연구는 대도시에 있는 대학생들 300명을 설문의 대상으로 설정하였다. 본 논문은 중국 대학생들의 한국 드라마 시청정도(시청경험, 분량, 시간, 방식, 종류), 시청동기, 시청효과에 대해 알아보았다. 그 결과는 중국 대학생들은 시청 경험이 없는 사람보다 시청 경험이 있는 사람이 더 많았다. 그리고 한국 드라마의 시청방식에서는 인터넷으로 다운로드 받는 방식으로 많이 이용했고, 청춘 드라마가 가장 인기 있는 것으로 나타났다. 중국 대학생들의 시청 동기는 최근 한국의 급격한 경제적 문화적 발전으로 인해 한국에 대한 동경심이 증대했고, 따라서 ‘한국의 중국대학생들에 대한 영향력’이 가장 큰 시청동기로 나타났다. 시청효과에서는 ‘한국 화장방법이 좋다’가 제일 높게 나왔다. 한국드라마에 나오는 배우들이 완벽한 화장을 하고 나오기 때문에 한국배우들의 메이크업을 따라 하려는 중국대학생들이 많은 것으로 나타났다.
