과거의 제품에서 무엇보다 중요하게 생각된 부분은 도구적 기능이었다. 하지만 기술이 발달하고 경제가 성장하면서 제품의 기능은 평준화되었고 소비자의 기호와 감성이 다양하게 변화되... 과거의 제품에서 무엇보다 중요하게 생각된 부분은 도구적 기능이었다. 하지만 기술이 발달하고 경제가 성장하면서 제품의 기능은 평준화되었고 소비자의 기호와 감성이 다양하게 변화되었다. 기존의 제품은 인간의 육체와 지적 측면을 지원해 왔다면, 현재는 소비자의 감성과 욕구를 충족시켜주는 사물이 주를 이루게 되었다. 이러한 추세로 소비자들의 정신적인 측면을 고려한 디자인의 활성화가 이뤄지고 있으며 감성 소비문화로 키덜트 문화가 생겨났다. 키덜트 문화는 현대 성인들이 만들어 낸 대중문화의 하나로, 일상생활에서 느끼는 불안한 심리를 사물이나 공간, 또는 향수를 자극하는 콘텐츠를 접하여 심리적 안정을 찾는다. 이렇듯 키덜트는 스스로가 정신적인 삶의 질을 높이고자 끊임없이 노력하는 긍정적인 일탈의 집단으로 볼 수 있다. 특히 그들은 상징적인 캐릭터들로부터 자신의 마음을 기대거나 위안을 얻기 때문에 키덜트에게 캐릭터의 의미는 매우 중요하다. 수많은 캐릭터 중 세계적으로 공통된 상징성을 띄는 미키 마우스는 어린 시절부터 현재까지 많은 사람의 기억 속에 남아있는 영원한 영웅이다. 또한, 미키 마우스는 인간의 인격을 대변해 표현한 최초의 캐릭터로 사람들이 마음을 기댈 수 있는 캐릭터이다. 키덜트가 그들이 느끼는 불안정한 심리를 캐릭터라는 대상을 통해 안정감을 느끼길 바라는 것처럼 조명의 역할에는 심리적인 안정감을 주는 기능이 있다. 그로 인해 인간의 심리를 안정적으로 느끼게 해주는 백열전구의 색온도를 반직접 조명의 펜던트와 스탠드 조명으로 제작하였다. 따라서 미키 마우스라는 캐릭터로 키덜트 감성이 적용된 조명 디자인 연구를 통해 국내의 감성 조명 디자인 개발의 방향성을 제시하였다. 제 Ⅰ장에서는 연구의 배경과 목적, 범위, 방법을 살펴본다. 제 Ⅱ장에서는 키덜트 문화의 개념과 배경, 상징적인 캐릭터 연구와 더불어 미키 마우스를 작업에 이용한 작가를 비교 분석한다. 제 Ⅲ장에서는 조명의 색온도와 배치 위치에 따라 달라지는 심리적 효과를 갖는 조명을 알아보고, 제 Ⅳ장에서는 작품의 의도와 조형적 특성, 기법을 살펴본다. 제 Ⅴ장에서는 키덜트 감성의 디자인 방향성을 제시한다. 본 연구는 각박한 현시대의 긍정적인 일탈로 작용하는 키덜트에 의의를 두어 앞으로도 키덜트 감성을 이용한 디자인의 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 더불어 키덜트 감성 디자인의 가능성은 무한하며 인간의 정신적인 측면을 중시하는 디자인이 새로운 방향이 될 것으로 예상한다.

In this trend, the revitalization of design that considers the mental phase of consumers is being made, and the Kidult culture emerged as an emotional consumption culture. As for the Kidult culture as one of popular cultures created by the modern adults, uneasy psychology felt in daily life can be returned to psychological stability by connecting contents that stimulate things, space or homesickness. Kidults can be regarded as a positive deviation group that puts consistent efforts to improve the quality of mental life. In particular, because they count on symbolic characters or gain comfort, the significance of the characters is very important to kidults. Among many of the characters, Mickey Mouse that gives a common symbolism worldwide is a permanent hero in the memories of many people from their childhood to the present time. Furthermore, Mickey Mouse is the first character that stands for the personality of man and people can count on. As kidults want to feel stability from unstable psychology through the objects of characters, the role of lighting is the function to give psychological stability. Therefore, the color temperature of the incandescent lamp that makes human psychology stable was produced by semi-direct lighting pendants and stand lighting. Accordingly, a direction of the national emotional lighting design development is suggested through research on the lighting design to which the kidult emotion with the character of Mickey Mouse is applied. In chapter II, the artists, who use Mickey Mouse for their artworks are compared and analyzed along with the review of the notion and background of the kidult culture and symbolic characters. Chapter III examines lighting with psychological effects that change according to color temperatures and placement locations, and chapter IV reviews the intentions of artworks and formative characteristics and skills. Chapter V suggests the design direction of the kidult emotion. This study is going to suggest a revitalization method using the kidult emotion in the future, putting significance on the kidult that influences as a positive deviation of the present age.
