우리나라 20대의 스마트폰 보유율은 93.5%로 다른 연령대보다 월등히 높은 것으로 조사됐다. 특히 20대의 경우 일상생활에서 없어서는 안된다고 생각하는 매체로 절반 이상 50.2%가 스마트폰을 꼽았다. 군에 입대하는 병사들은 대부분 20대 초반으로 스마트폰에 의존도가 높은 시기이다. 군에서는 보안 부서에서 서약서를 작성하고 기기를 등록한 간부에 한정되어 사용 가능하고, 일반 병사는 핸드폰(스마트폰 포함)을 소지할 수 없다.
각 연령대별로 스마트폰을 사용하는 빈도, 응용 행태, 그리고 이에 따라 군에 입대하는 20대 연령층을 대상으로 사회에서 일상적으로 사용하던 스마트폰의 사용 제한이 군 생활과 심리 상태에 어떤 영향을 주는지에 대한 연구는 이루어지지 않았다.
본 논문에서는 군에 입대한 병사들이 군 환경의 특성상 스마트폰 사용이 제한됨에 따라 군 생활과 심리상태에 미치는 영향에 대한 분석 연구를 수행한다. 본 연구에서는 병사의 계급 체계와 연관하여 입대한지 얼마 되지 않은 이등병과 적응단계에 있는 일병, 적응이 완료된 상병, 전역이 얼마 남지 않은 병장들을 대상으로 설문 조사를 통한 심리 상태 분석을 수행한다. 연구 결과는 군 생활과 심리 지표별로 계급별로 다양한 특징을 보여준다. 본 연구의 결과를 군 병영 문화 조성 및 병사 관리에 활용 가능할 것으로 기대한다.

South Koreas twenties ratio of smart phone carriage turns out to be way more higher than other age groups. Especially more than 50.2% of the twenties chose smart phone as their "must have" multimedia in their everyday life. Most of the people who serves their military service is in their twenties, which is the most dependant time of age in smart phones. in the army, only the county officials can use their phones only if they write a statement to the security department.
There has been many studies about how smart phone physically of physiologically affects people by how or how much they use it. However, there was no studies that included how prohibiting the use of smart phone would affect the mental state of the wenties who is about to be enlisted to the army.
This thesis will do an deep analysis on how compulsory forbidding the use of smart phones by the change of the environment would mentally affect the soldiers and their barrack lifes. there will be a psychological research of a specific rank of soldiers which includes private who just got recruited to the army, private first class who is still in the adjustment stage, corporal who is fully accommodated to the army, and finally sergeant who will be discharged from the service. The study will show diverse features complying barrack lifes and psychological indexes.
The result of this study expects to be practically used to manage soldiers and form a positive barrack culture.
