The purpose of this thesis is to analyse Korean Blockbuster and its relationship with nationalism from the perspective of Cultural Political Economy (CPE). The focus of the research is placed upon the construction of nationalism in Korean Blockbuster that emerged in the 1990s and reached its peak around 2010, in an attempt to illustrate the dynamics between filmic signification and national unity, identity and community. Hinged upon three main divisions of media analysis, text, production and consumption, the thesis probes into the correlation of culture, politics and economy that produces the effect of nationalism. The discussion entials a theoretical and critical review of national cinema studies, national specificity research and CPE, which in turn serves to provide a basis for the analysis of Korean Blockbuster as medium of nationalism
본 논문은 한국형 블록버스터를 통해서 영화와 민족주의의 함수관계에 대하여 고찰하였다. 연구의 초점은 1990년대 말에 등장하여 2010년 무렵을 기점으로 정점에 이른 한국형 블록버스터가 ... 본 논문은 한국형 블록버스터를 통해서 영화와 민족주의의 함수관계에 대하여 고찰하였다. 연구의 초점은 1990년대 말에 등장하여 2010년 무렵을 기점으로 정점에 이른 한국형 블록버스터가 민족 공동체, 또는 민족적인 유대감 현성과 의미를 생산할 수 있는가 하는 것으로, 그 논의는 텍스트, 생산, 소비의 관점에서 한국형 블록버스터가 어떤 민족적인 의미를 생산할 수 있는가를 중심으로 전개하였다. 민족영화 연구, 국가 특수성 연구, 정치경제학, 문화정치경제학을 비교 검토하면서, 영화와 민족주의의 관계를 이해할 수 있는 이론적인 기초를 제시하고자 하였으며, 그것은 한국형 블록버스터의 민족주의를 파악하는 전거가 되었다.
