현대인은 좋든 싫든 어디에서나 방송을 접하게 되고, 사람마다 차이는 있지만 방송으로부터 자유로울 수 없다. 현대인에게 방송이 미치는 영향이 큰 만큼 방송 언어에 대한 우리의 관심도 자연스런 것이고, 방송의 사회적 비중에 따른 책임도 당연한 것이다. 그러나 이런 영향력에도 불구하고 실제로 방송 현장에서 사용하고 있는 언어는 많은 문제점을 안고 있다.
순화되지 못한 말들이 방송 매체를 타고 우리 사회에 확산되면서 국민 정서는 물론, 청소년들의 언어생활에도 악영향을 끼치고 있는 것이다.
본 연구는 이런 문제점에 착안하여 방송 언어의 오용 실태를 조사하여 학교 교육을 통한 개선 방안을 찾고, 언어 순화에 도움이 되고자 하였다. 방송 언어의 오용 실태는 음운, 어휘, 문장 · 문법, 표기의 범주로 나누어 분석하였다.
첫째, 모음의 음가 혼란으로 '바람'을 '바램'으로 발음하고, '놀라다'를 '놀래다' 등으로 잘못 발음하고 있다. 또한 /ㅗ/가 /ㅜ/로 발음되는 것이 많았는데 특히 드라마에서 많이 사용되고 있었다. 자음의 변동에서 두드러진 오용은 된소리화로 음운이 점차 거칠어져 가는 면을 볼 수 있었다.
둘째, 어휘는 어려운 한자어, 일본식 한자어 등 많은 한자어들이 사용되었고, 국어로 충분히 의사 전달이 가능한 것까지도 외래어와 외국어를 남용하고 있음을 확인했다. 또한 유행어, 비속어 등과 같은 금기어가 연예, 오락 프로그램에서 빈번히 쓰이고 있었다. 부정확한 어휘를 사용하여 언어 내용을 이해하기 어렵게 만들었다.
셋째, 문법 법주에서는 조사, 어미를 잘못 사용하고, 시제에 맞지 않은 어휘를 사용하였으며, 지나친 사동법 피동법과 경어법을 사용하였다.
넷째, 자막 표기에서 한글 맞춤법, 표준어 규정에 어긋난 표기, 외래어 표기법에 어긋난 표기가 오용되고 있었다.
이렇게 잘못 사용된 방송 언어를 개선할 수 있는 방안을 학교 교육을 통해 살펴보았다.
본인의 조사에 의하면 학생들이 생각하는 방송 언어 오용 사례의 개선 방안으로 학교에서의 연어 교육이 언어 지식 교육이 아닌 언어 사용 교육으로 이루어져야 하며 그러기 위해서 늘 입시 체제의 변화가 필요함을 언급하였다.
방송에서 나오는 오용 언어는 어린이, 학생들을 비롯한 대중의 어법에 영향을 주기에 방송의 책임이 크다. 방송은 학교 언어 교육의 보조자가 아니라 일정한 곳에서 제한된 시간에 가르치는 학교 교육 보다 앞서서 언제나 광범위하게 무차별로 언어 교육을 하고 있다는 점을 자각해야 한다.
국어 교사의 언어보다 사회자나 아나운서나 희극인의 언어가 더 언어 교본으로 영향을 끼친다는 점에서 전파 교사로서의 자각이 있어야 한다. 방송인은 올바른 방송 언어를 사용하여 언어 사용에 모범이 되어야 한다. 방송에서 올바른 언어를 사용해, 국민의 언어 생활에 도움이 되며, 나아가 우리의 방송을 통해 한국어를 배우는 세 계 여러 나라 사람들에게 방송이 표준어 교본이 되길 바란다.

Modern people have come in like or dislike with the broadcast in media in everywhere, and no one has been able to free from that media in different degree. Our concerns about the brodcasting language are natural as much as the brodcasts have an influence on modem people, and the brodcasts ought to have responsibilities by their social weights. Though these influences, brodcasting words being actually used in the field have contained many problems. Impure words have been spread over our society, and they have had bad influnce on teenager's words and daily lives as well as the national emotions.
This study examined into the realities on misusage of broadcasting term to seek for the improvement plans for the purification of the words, having an eye on these problems. The following is the results of this study that divide and analyze the realities by categories-phoneme, vocabulary, grammar and mark.
First, there are words that /Baram/-meaning of "wish" and /Nolada/-meaning of "be surprised" are mispronounced as /Baraem/ and /Nolaeda/ -meaning of "surprise", respectively, by the disorder of phonetic value for a vowel sound. And, there are many cases that /O/ is pronounced incorrectly as /U/, which is particularly used to drama. Also, it shows that a phoneme is gradually turning into a fortis.
Second, it shows that many vocabularies are used as words written in Chinese characters-difficult Chinese words and Chinese words of Japanese style, and that though only Korean words can sufficiently communicate one's mind, the Korean words are misused as the foreign words. Also, there are taboo words-a word in fashion and a expletive-using for entertainment programs. Therefore, it became difficult to understand the meaning of words by using the incorrect vocabularies.
Third, in grammar, it shows that it misused an auxiliary word, an ending of a word, and a vocabulary that not go with the tense, and that it used an excessive causative mood, passive mood and honorific expression.
Fourth, there are many marks that go wrong with the rules like Korean spelling, standard language and foreign language.
Also, this study took examination of plans that can improve the misused broadcasting terms.
The result is as following. Many students show that schooling of words must be realized for not knowledge of it but usage of it. Accordingly, the entrance examination system is necessary to change.
Broadcasting companies take a high responsibility for this, as the broadcasted misusage words have a bad influence on the words usage of masses including children and students. They are indiscriminately educating broader words than school spot regardless of the times, not as an assistant for schooling of words.
A chairman, announcer and comedian for the broadcasting rather than a teacher of Korean must be aware of having a significant effect on the education of standard words, and they have to serve as a pattern for the usage of words by using a good language. Accordingly, this study want not only to serve for a national language life but also to become a standard textbook to all foreigners, which learn the Korean language from our broadcasting, by the usage of correct words.
