This article aimed at suggesting the developmental direction of the Korean writing curriculum, as finding a demand for practical business Korean writing curriculum in Thailand.
The practical business Korean writing curriculum refers to practical business-based Korean language training that can be used in common for every careers field. The practical business Korean language training in Korean language training for a job can refer to practical business-based Korean language training that is using in common for every job, so it will be very important curriculum for a leaner who is studying Korean language for a job. Until recent day, however, as the researches were dominated by a precedent study of Korean language training for a job, a precedent study of practical business Korean language training is not concerned yet.
In Thailand, Korean language training was formed for meeting social urgent demand and most of leaners work in Korean Rating Company or the agencies concerned as foreign language ability-human resources. Even if most of them have Korean speaking skills for a job, their practical business Korean speaking skills are poor and their professionalism is low-level, so the adaptability of them also is remarkably low for practical business.
Therefore, we understood that a study on practical business Korean writing training is urgently necessary, and we have set some purposes to study as follows:
In the chapter 1, we presented the purpose of study, necessity of research and how to study. These are to focus on necessity of research for practical business Korean writing curriculum in Thailand.
In the chapter 2, as a theoretical background, we showed a concept of practical Korean language training and a concept of practical Korean documents.
In the chapter 3, we examined the present condition of University and enterprise for practical business Korean language curriculum condition in Thailand, and analyzed data from a survey for practical business Korean writing curriculum requirement analysis. We conducted a survey targeting intermediate students of Korean in the department of Korean and the employed, cooperate manager and Korean tutor in Thailand. For the information of practical business Korean writing training and practical use of actual language that could not be obtained from the survey, we took indirect survey such as e-mail, Facebook, massage and telephone interview for Korean tutors and cooperate managers. Various analysis methods were used for research problems.
So we analyzed syntactically data from the real requirement analysis related with business and suggested the conclusion as follows:
First, we found that there was significant difference between the present practical business Korean language training and real practical use of Korean language. Second, we found that the consciousness of need for practical business Korean documents and a level of difficulty for students and the employed were not the same for every group because they were influenced by special experience and perception. Third, we found that the results of practical business Korean writing curriculum requirement analysis matched up for every group. Fourth, Korean writing education environment is poor yet in Thailand, but we concluded that there is possibility to apply the practical business Korean writing curriculum.
In the chapter 4, based on the result of requirement analysis, we derived the method to develop in earnest practical business Korean writing curriculum.
In the chapter 5, we summarized the results, concluded the research and suggested what we would like to have in future. In addition, we suggested the necessity of further study of practice business Korean writing curriculum development for developing consistently in Thailand.
As seeing above discussion, this has meaning as follows:
First, with the results of requirement analysis, even though people of Korean education field is interested in practical business Korean language training in Thailand, there is some gap between learners and social demand. Especially, we found the development of practical business Korean writing curriculum is urgently necessary.
Second, with the result of requirement analysis, actual data and review of the precedent study, even though the educational environment in Thailand is poor, we found that it is perfectly possible that we can apply practical business Korean writing curriculum.
Third, we consider that this is the starting point for developing practice business Korean writing curriculum, as considering practice business Korean language training in Thailand using the result of requirement analysis.
