본 연구는 베트남인 여성 결혼이민자를 위한 설문조사를 통하여 한국어 친족 호칭어 사용 양상을 파악하고자 한다. 설문조사의 결과를 분석하여 베트남인 여성 결혼이민자를 위한 친족 호칭어 교육 수업 모형을 제시하는 목적이 있다.
이 연구에서 논의된 내용은 다음과 같다.
1장에서는 본 연구의 목적, 연구 내용 및 방법을 제시하고 선행연구를 검토한 것이다.
2장에서는 호칭어의 개념, 한국어 친족 호칭어 체계와 베트남어 친족 호칭어 체계와 같은 이론적 배경을 제시한 것이다.
3장에서는 베트남인 여성 결혼이민자들이 친족 호칭어 사용 양상을 알아보고자 설문조사로 진행한 것이다. 설문조사는 세 가지 부분으로 나누어 구성되었다. 첫 번째 부분은 다른 설문조사처럼 조사 대상자의 인적 정보를 파악하고 두 번째 부분은 베트남 여성 결혼이민자들의 한국어 친족 호칭어를 사용하기의 어려움을 알아 본 것이다. 셋 번째 부분은 친족 호칭어 학습의 필요성에 대한 조사한 것이며 마지막으로 한국어 친족 호칭어 퀴즈가 같이 진행한 것이다.
베트남인 여성 결혼이민자들의 친족 호칭어 사용 양상을 파악한 후 4장으로 들어가 친족 호칭어 수업 모형을 제시한 것이다. 수업 모형은 주로 다문화센터에서 특강으로 진행할 목적이며 직계, 부계 및 모계, 부부계를 세 가지 단계로 수업 모형을 제시하였다.
현재 2015년 7월 기준으로 베트남인 여성 결혼이민자들이 중국에 이어 한국에서 결혼이민자 두 번째로 가장 많은 것으로 나타난다. 이들은 한국 생활을 적응하는 데에 어려운 점의 하나인 친족 호칭어를 교육 수업 모형을 제시한 본 연구가
도움이 되기 바란다.

This thesis aims at checking how do Vietnamese women, who are married to Korean men and live in Korea, use the right Korean expressions when they address their husband’s family members, and depending on an ad hoc survey’s results, I will suggest a model class for teaching them the proper way to use such expressions.
Specific details of each chapter are as follows:
Chapter 1: The purpose and necessity of this thesis. Exploring other studies that have been carried out on similar subjects. Describing the methods and range of research used in this thesis.
Chapter 2: Basic concepts such as Address forms, Korean relative address forms’ System, Vietnamese relative address forms’ System, and Comparing between the two systems in order to find out what is common and what is different between them.
Chapter 3: A survey aiming at exploring how the Vietnamese migrant women married to Korean men and live in Korea use the Korean language system for addressing husband’s family members. The survey is divided into 3 parts.
The first part of the survey contains private information of the respondents, such as: year of birth, residency in Korea, duration of marriage, the period of stay in Korea, current resident status (beside husband, who else are you living with?), the period of studying Korean language, the place where they study Korean and how much is Korean proficiency.
The second part includes questions about problems they suffer in accordance with using the Korean language system for addressing husband’s family members, such as:
- "Have you ever been corrected when addressing someone in a wrong way in Korean?"
- "Have you ever been confused about how to address one of your husband's relatives"
- "Whom is the most confusing for addressing?"
- "What do you do when you don't know how to address someone?" etc.
The survey ends up with a quiz about the Korean system for addressing husband’s relatives.
After analyzing the results of the survey on 100 respondents, chapter 4 suggests a model class for teaching Vietnamese migrant women how to use the right Korean relative address forms especially how to use the right expressions for addressing their Korean husband’s family member’s in a right and proper way.
The suggested class has been planned in 3 steps with 3 kinds of relative addressing forms:
* General family relatives addressing forms.
* Father’s side and mother's side relatives addressing forms.
* Husband’s side and wife's side relatives addressing forms.
Until July 2015, the number of Vietnamese migrant women in Korea was the second following their Chinese counterparts. It means that there are lots of those Vietnamese migrant wives who need help in order to improve their abilities to communicate with Korean people, while they are struggling to adapt with their new life in Korea as a part of Korean society.
This thesis is aiming to give such help to those new members in Korean society, based on scientific method (survey) which was implemented and carried out on realistic cases.
