이 연구는 교재 중심의 한국어 문화 교육 현장에서 문화 교육의 효과를 높이기 위한 영상 매체의 활용 방안을 찾는 데 그 목적이 있다. 특히 문화에 대한 기본적인 정보 제공을 목적으로 구성된 교재와 보다 실제적이며 풍부한 맥락을 제공하는 영상 매체의 특징을 고려하여 문화 수업에서의 영상 매체의 효과적인 활용을 위한 방안을 제시해보고자 하였다.
이를 위해 1장에서는 연구의 목적과 필요성을 바탕으로 연구대상 및 방법을 설정하고, 관련 선행연구를 분석함으로써 연구의 방향을 분명히 제시하였다. 이를 위해 2장에서는 이 장에서 설정한 연구 방법과 목적에 따라 영상 매체를 활용한 한국어 문화 교육에 대한 이론과 문화 교육에서의 영상 매체의 활용에 대해 폭넓게 검토하고자 하였다.
3장에서는 2장에서 살펴보았던 이론을 바탕으로 한국어 교육 현장에서의 문화 교육의 현황을 파악하기 위해 각 기관의 한국어 교재를 선정하여 문화 요소와 내용 구성, 그리고 관련 활동 등에 대해 분석하였다. 4장에서는 2장에서 마련한 이론적 토대와 3장의 교재 분석 결과를 바탕으로 교재 중심의 문화 수업에서 영상 매체의 활용을 위한 구체적인 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.
5장에서는 이 연구를 요약․정리하고, 연구의 의의와 한계를 밝히면서 교재 중심의 문화 교육에서 영상 매체의 효과적인 활용을 위한 앞으로의 과제를 제안하였다.

This study has its purpose to find the utilization measures of visual media to enhance the effects of culture education at the Korean culture education site centering on texts. Especially, considering the characteristics of texts constituted of which purpose is to provide basic information on culture, and visual media to provide more practical and full context, the study intends to suggest measures for effective utilization of visual media in culture lessons.
To this aim, Chapter I set the objects and methods of study based on the purpose and necessity of the study, and by analyzing precedent studies, clearly suggested the direction of the study.
Chapter II, following the study object and method set in the previous chapter, intends to fully review the theory on Korean culture education using visual media, and utilization of visual media in culture education.
Chapter III, based on the theory review in Chapter II, to grasp the current status of culture education at Korean education site, selected Korean language texts of each institution and analyzed cultural elements, content composition and relevant activities.
Chapter IV, based on theoretical foundation prepared in Chapter II and text analysis results in Chapter III, intended to suggest specific measures to utilize visual media in culture lesson centering on texts.
Chapter V summarized and arranged this study, revealed the significance and limitation, and suggested the future task for effective utilization of visual media in the culture education centering on texts.
The realization of the goal requires the effective use of teaching aids. This study suggests that one of the ways to overcome those limits be the use of visual media; television programs. For more effective Korean culture education, a lot of interests in the Korean culture education and active improvements of real materials such as visual media for culture education are necessary.
