This study has it's purpose in finding an effective way of teaching cultural aspects of Korea to foreigners by recognizing the importance of cultural education and appreciating the characteristics of Korean, particularly the Confucian culture. Practice of Confucian culture has it's origin from Confucian thoughts which was effects on psychology and behaviors of Korean. Way of thinking, formation of the language, modes of behavior and social phenomena of Koreans have close relation to the Confucian culture. By analysing the education materials currently used in academic institutions, identification of the reality in characteristics of Korean Confucian culture had been done and effective teaching plan has been searched. With understanding of Confucian culture in Korea, it will alleviate the cultural impact to not only the foreign students from Confucian cultural countries, but also the students from none Confucian cultures.
In chapter Ⅰ, purposes, needs, pre research result and method of the research of the characteristics of confucian culture and education of Korean culture has been suggested.
In chapter Ⅱ, cultural characteristics of Korea has been investigated. Harmony among diversity, and caring characteristics has been presented with the family culture, filial piety, dignity culture and manners.
In chapter Ⅲ, examination about current status of Korean cultual education was undergone by looking at the textbooks. Filial piety, family culture, and etiquette culture were suggested was the characteristics of Korean culture.
Based on these discussions, a map of Koran culture and practical measures are presented in Chapter Ⅳ

본 연구는 외국인 학습자들에게 있어서 문화 교육의 중요성을 인식하고 한국 문화의 특성, 특히 유교 문화를 중심으로 실태를 파악하여 효율적인 문화 교육의 지도 방안을 모색해 보는 데 그 목적이 있다. 유교 문화란 유학의 사상과 관습에 의해서 형성되었다고 추론할 수 있는 한국인의 심리와 행동 등에서 근원하는 문화 현상을 말한다. 한국인의 사고방식, 언어양식, 행동방식과 사회현상 등 한국인은 유교 문화와 밀접한 관계를 맺고 있다. 이러한 한국의 유교 문화적 특성의 실태를 파악하기 위하여 현재 대학 기관에서 사용하고 있는 교재를 분석해 보고 효율적인 지도 방안을 모색해 보았다. 이러한 한국의 유교 문화를 이해함으로써 같은 유교 문화권 외국인 학습자에게 뿐만 아니라, 비유교권 외국인 학습자에게도 문화적 충격을 완화시키는 역할을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Ⅰ장에서는 한국 문화 교육과 유교 문화적 특성에 대한 연구목적과 필요성, 선행 연구 및 방법을 제시하였다.
Ⅱ장에서는 한국 문화의 특성을 살펴보았다. 다양성과 조화, 정이 많은 특성과 함께 관념문화적 요소로 가족문화, 효, 체면문화, 예절문화 등의 유교 문화적 요소들을 제시하였다.
Ⅲ장에서는 한국어 교재를 통하여 한국 문화 교육의 실태를 살펴보고 한국 문화 교육의 특성으로 효 문화, 가족문화, 예절문화에 대해 제시하였다.
Ⅳ장에서는 이러한 논의를 바탕으로 한국 문화 교육의 지도방안과 실제를 제시하였다.
