본 연구는 외국인을 위한 한국어 교재의 읽기 텍스트를 분석하여 그 분석 결과를 토대로 개선 방안을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 실제 한국어 교육 현장에서 사용되는 교재의 텍스트들은 대부분이 한국어 교육을 위해 가공되거나 교사의 판단에 의해 개작된 것이기 때문에 어색한 부분이 많다. 체계적이고 조직적이지 않고 다양한 실제 자료의 텍스트가 부족한 현 실정에서의 읽기 교육은 비효율적인 학습 결과를 초래 할 수 있다고 판단되어 본 연구를 통해 개선 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 본 연구의 구성과 내용은 다음과 같다.
1장에서는 구체적인 연구의 목적과 필요성에 대해 밝히고 연구 대상 및 방법에 대해서 논의하였다.
2장에서는 텍스트의 개념을 기존의 텍스트 연구들에서 정리하여 살펴보고 언어교육 특히 한국어 교육에서 텍스트의 개념과 그 범위를 정하였다. 그리고 텍스트 분류 기준들을 기존의 연구를 통해 살펴보았다.
3장에서는 국내 대학의 한국어 교육 기관에서 출판되어 사용하고 있는 초급, 중급, 고급 한국어 교재에 실린 텍스트를 주제, 기능, 유형, 실제성의 측면으로 나누어 분석하였다. 그 기준에 따라 교재별, 단계별 비교를 통해 분석한 결과를 정리하였다.
4장에서는 읽기 텍스트의 개선 방안의 방향을 앞서 분석한 읽기 텍스트의 ‘주제, 기능, 유형, 실제성’ 네 가지 측면에서 분석한 결과를 바탕으로 제시하였다. 또한 개작을 통한 부족한 텍스트를 보완하는 것으로 개선 방향을 제시하였다. 이러한 개선 방향을 토대로 단계별 텍스트의 실제를 보여주고자 하였다.
본 연구를 통해서 텍스트 자체의 중요성을 인식하고, 보다 다양하고 실제적인 읽기 텍스트를 학습자에게 제공하여 효율적인 읽기 교육을 실현하는 데 도움이 되고자 한다.

This research is to present how to improve the Korean language textbooks for foreigners by analysing the reading text. Many of the current textbooks used at Korean language educational institutions are unnatural, because they are mostly reproduced for language education based on the instructor's own judgement. The actual circumstances are neither systematic nor methodical, and it is true that they are lack of various texts. In these conditions, text reading education seems to cause an inefficient study effect. So, it is necessary that they need some ways to improve their educational system. Here are the compositions and substances of this research.
In the first chapter, the concrete purpose and necessity of this research will be viewed and will discuss about the object and method of this study.
The second chapter will discuss on the concept of the text reviewing the current text researches and define the concept and the range of the Korean language text. In addition, the standard text classification is observed by viewing those current studies.
In the third chapter, the presently published language textbooks for primary, intermediate, and high class which is taught in Korean language institutions of domestic universities are distinguished into four aspects- theme, function, type, and reality. Referred to those standards, analytic results are arranged according to the comparison of each teaching materials and steps.
The last chapter presents the analyzed results of the ways to improve the reading texts which is based on the analysis of the four aspects that is mentioned at the previous chapter. Due to these remedy, the actual text of each step is shown.
This research is to recognize the importance of text itself and to realize the effective reading education by providing more various and more actual texts to the language learners.
