본고에서는 고급 학습자들을 위해 TV 뉴스 어떻게 듣기 교육 시간에 활용할 수 있는지에 관한 방안을 제안하려고 한다. 또한 TV 뉴스 활용은 듣기 능력뿐만 아니라 한국사회 현상과 한국 문화 이해를 통해 학습자의 능숙한 의사소통에 도움이 되는 방안을 연구 하였다.
1장에서는 한국어 TV 뉴스 듣기를 고급 학습자 위한 듣기 자료로 선정한 이유를 첫째, TV 뉴스는 모든 자료가 생생하게 살아있는 한국인의 생활상과 문화를 드러내는 실제자료로써 한국의 사회현상과 문화 이해에 적합하며 둘째, TV 뉴스의 화면은 일반 듣기 자료와 달리 학습동기를 유발시키며 셋째, TV 뉴스 듣기 수업은 고급 학습자들이 필요성을 느끼는 자료이면서 또한 고급 학습자들이 듣기 성취도 측정에 있어서 TV 뉴스 듣기를 척도를 삼는다는 점과 넷째, TV 종합 뉴스 이면서 짧게 다양한 주제를 보도 하는 주요뉴스가 뉴스 듣기에 긴 시간을 투자해야 한다는 부담감을 갖는 학습자에게 용이하며 다섯째 인터넷에서 TV 뉴스 다시 시청하기를 통해 학습 전 후 과제 활동에 쉽게 접근 할 수 있다는 점 등을 들었다.
2장에서는 실제 듣기의 중요성, 듣기 텍스트와 TV 뉴스 텍스트 등에 관한 이론적 고찰에 관해 살펴보았다.
3장에서는 TV 뉴스를 수업에 활용하기 위한 기초 작업으로써 TV 뉴스를 텍스트 구조, 문법 및 표현 특징, 어휘적 특징으로 나누어 살펴보았으며 뉴스에 자주 등장하는 어휘와 구문 등을 살펴보았다. 텍스트 구조에 있어서 학습자들의 동기 유발 을 할 수 있으며 중심 내용을 예측 할 수 있는 자막이 있는 화면이 뉴스 텍스트 특징 중 하나였으며 문법 및 표현 특징으로는 피동 표현과 시제 표현, 부정 표현, 그 밖의 빈번하게 등장하는' -고 있다', '-으로 나타나다',' -보이다' 구문이 있었다. 어휘적 특징으로는 각 주제별 다양한 어휘가 사용되었으며 연어, 관용어, 문화어휘, 약어, 외래어와 기타 어휘 순 으로 살펴보았다.
4장에서는 이상과 같은 논의를 바탕으로 TV 뉴스를 활용한 고급 듣기 학습을 위해 학습 목표와 수업 설계, 실제 교수·학습 방안 순으로 제시하여 보았다

This study was intended to suggest the plan about how the TV news listening would be utilized to the listening lesson for Advanced-level leaners. Also, this study was aimed at investigating whether the utilization of TV news was helpful to the learner's proficient communication through understanding on Korean society and culture as well as the listening ability.
Chapter 1 described the reason why Korean TV news listening was selected as the listening material for the Advanced-level leaners. Firstly, TV news is suitable for the understanding on Korea's social situation and culture as the actual material which discloses Korean people's real life and culture. Secondly, the screen of TV news causes the learning motivation different from the general listening data. Thirdly, TV news listening lesson enables the Advanced-level leaners to feel its necessity and has the TV news listening as the standard in measuring the Advanced-level leaners' listening achievement. Fourthly, the top news which a short and various topics as TV comprehensive news are good for leaners who have burdens to investment the long time in the news listening. Fifthly, it is easy to approach an homework activity before and after the lesson through Internet TV news re-watching.
Chapter 2 described the importance of actual listening and the theoretical consideration on the listening text and TV news text.
Chapter 3 divided TV news into the text structure, grammar and expression characteristics as the basic process for utilizing the TV news to the lesson. Vocabularies and construction which frequently appeared in the news were examined. It can cause the learners' motivation in the text structure. The screen with subtitles which can predict the main contents was one of the news text characteristics. As the grammar and expression characteristics, there were the passive expression & tense, negative expression and other frequently-appeared sentences such as '-고 있다', '-으로 나타나다', and ' -보이다'. As lexical characteristics, a variety of vocabularies was used by subject. Also, a phrase, idiom, cultural vocabulary, abbreviation, collocation, words written in Chinese characters, naturalized words and other vocabularies were investigated.
Chapter 4 suggested the learning goal, lesson design, and actual teaching·learning plan in the order for the Advanced-level listening learning using the TV news based on the above discussions
