본 논문은 전문용어, 특히 현재 프랑스에서 사용되고 있는 경제 분야의 전문용어의 조어법에 관해 다루고 있다. 우리나라에서는 아직 연구가 활발하지 않지만, 언어적 정체성을 지키고자하는 프랑스에서는 외국에서 들여오는 전문용어를 모국어로 바꾸어 사용하려는 노력이 다른 어느 나라에서보다 강하게 일어나고 있다. 이러한 노력의 결과로, 프랑스에서는 우리나라에서처럼 한 분야의 용어를 영어나, 혹은 그 분야가 발전한 다른 나라의 용어를 그대로 빌어다가 사용하는 경우는 거의 없다. 이 점에 착안하여, 프랑스 전문용어 조어법의 언어적 특징을 밝혀보고자 한다.
1장에서는 전문용어에 대해 알아보았다. 언어학을 연구하는 입장에서 전문용어를 다루고자 하는 이유와, 전문용어를 특히 신조어 생성이라는 관점에서 접근하는 것이 타당한지 알아보았다. 즉, 전문용어도 언어의 관점에서 보면 신조어의 일부분이기 때문에, 신조어에 대한 연구 및 신조어 생성방식을 살펴보았다.
다음으로, 프랑스어의 조어법에 대해서 살펴보았다. 이는 3장에서 살펴보게 될 전문용어의 조어법에 대해 연구하기 전에, 프랑스의 일상적인 어휘들의 조어법은 어떠한 지를 알아보기 위함이었다. 프랑스에서는 신조어를 만들어 낼 때, 형용사나 전치사, 동사들을 사용한 명사구, 전치사구, 동사구 등도 모두 전문용어로 사용된다는 특징이 있었다. 이러한 명사구나 전치사구, 동사구 등이 각각 하나의 지시 대상을 갖고, 통사적으로 분리할 수 없다면1), 이는 하나의 단어로 인정하고, 합성어로 분류한다. 그 외에 파생을 통한 신조어의 경우는 어근에 접두사나 접미사, 혹은 둘을 모두 붙여서 만든다. 마지막으로 차용의 경우는, 외래어의 의미와 형태를 그대로 차용하는 방식보다는 외래어의 의미를 설명하는 방식(의미차용)과 외래어를 문자 그대로 옮기는 방식(모사)의 두 가지를 사용하고 있다.
3장에서는 앞에 제시했던 전문용어 생성 방식을 토대로 프랑스 경제 분야의 전문용어를 분석해 보았다. 프랑스 경제용어의 조어법 상의 특성과 의미적 특성을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 분석 결과 일상어휘의 조어법과 마찬가지로 크게 합성, 파생, 차용으로 나눌 수 있었다. 이는 더 세분화하여 합성과 복합어구, 접사파생과 비 접사파생, 직접차용과 간접차용으로 나뉜다. 그러나 경제용어를 여러 번의 검토 후에 만들어 냈기는 하지만, 다의어, 동의어, 유의어 등의 문제들이 있었다. 대체로 다의어나 유의어, 동의어의 문제가 없기는 했지만, 간혹 이러한 문제들이 드러나고 있었다. 이러한 것들은 전문용어의 사용이 계속되어 의미나 개념 전달에 혼란을 줄 것이기 때문에 이런 상황이 계속되면, 다른 어휘로 대체될 가능성은 충분히 열려 있다.

The potential demand of cyber university is espected to be sufficient because the main users of cyber university are white-collars of thirties or forties and the cyber university brings to a focus on reeducation and practical business education.
It is in need of a large scale of investment at the very beginning to found a cyber university but a small scale of variable expenses after a basic investment therefore it will make a lot of profits rapidly if the number of students increase over break-even-point but the rate of application and registration is still low in korea.
It should be improed as follows to settle the cyber university in korea
1. It is a developing and security of excellent lecture contents, which means that it is in need of a strong protectve device of intellectual property right to secure an excellent lecture contents in addition to be in need of a standardization of contents to use mutually and a cooperated developing to save a development cost,
2. It is in need of developing an obtective test method that is like a qualifying examination on on-line as well as off-line to change a social understanding of the cyber university.
3. It is in need of the establishment of marketing strategy like a cooperated public relations to save a public relations cost
4. The goverment should remove the regulation of enterance quota of the cyber university. because it is possible for the cyber university to become financial independendence from goverment because of an effect of network economy like scale economics, which is different from off-line university.
