본 연구는 유아교사를 대상으로 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문의 필요성과 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문의 내용과 구조에 대한 인식을 알아 보고자 했으며, 이 연구의 결과로 유아와 교사가 함께 활용할 수 있는 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문제작에 대한 기초적인 자료의 제공에 목적이 있다.
본 연구의 대상은 대구광역시 및 경상북도, 원주, 대전, 서울, 김포시에 소재하고 있는 유아교사 300명을 대상으로 했으며, 연구도구는 임선정(2003)이 사용한 유치원 교사의 NIE에 관한 질문지를 참고로 본 연구자가 제작한 질문지를 사용하였다.
본 연구의 자료분석은 SPSS WIN(10.0) 통계 프로그램을 활용하여 각 질문 항목별로 빈도와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차를 산출하고, t-검증과 ANOVA, 교차분석을 실시하여 유아교사의 NIE활용을 위한 교사용 신문에 대한 인식을 분석하였다.
본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 유아교사들은 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문의 필요성과 구독의향에 대해 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 결과는 유아교사들은 경력, 학력에 관계없이 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문이 필요하다고 인식하고 있으며, 구독의향이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 유아교사의 NIE활용을 위한 교사용 신문의 내용에 대한 인식에서, 유아교육용 신문에서 가장 필요한 지면은 문화, 가정, 교육지면 순으로 나타났고, 적합한 광고 비율은 10-30%미만, 광고내용에서는 상업적이지 않으면서 유아에게 적합한 광고로 유아교육이나 유아, 부모, 교사 모두를 위한 상품광고가 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 기사내용에 사용 가능한 표현으로 외래어, 속어, 약어 모두 부정적으로 나타났으며 특히, 속어와 약어에 대해 더 부정적인 것으로 나타났으며, 한글, 영어, 한자, 숫자 등의 다양한 문자사용에 대해서는 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 문법에 잘 맞아야 한다고 인식한 내용에서 신문기사내용 전체가 문법에 잘 맞아야 한다고 인식하고 있는 반면, 만화대화글이나 광고문구는 문법에 맞아야 한다는 인식이 약간 낮은 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 유아교사의 NIE활용을 위한 유아교육용 신문의 구조에 대한 인식에서, 신문크기는 성인용 신문의 1/2, 신문제시방법은 책묶음 방법, 지면수는 2-10면, 쓰기구조는 가로쓰기구조, 활자색은 골고루, 활자크기는 15-20 포인트, 활자 디자인은 다양한 활자체, 적절한 만화수는 2개, 하나의 만화컷수는 4-5컷, 만화색깔은 칼라, 발행주기는 주1-2회, 구독료는 5000원 이하가 가장 적당하다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.

This study is to find out how much early childhood teachers think early childhood education news for NIE(News In Education) is necessary and what kind of story and structure they think the should have. And I hope this study would offer basic data to make early childhood education news for NIE which is useful for both early childhood teachers and children.
This survey is based on 300 opinions of early childhood teachers who are working in Kyungsangbookdo, Wonjoo, Seoul and Kimpo, and for this survey, I made questionnaires consulting the questionnaire about NIE for teachers Im Sun Jung made for her survey(2003).
In order to analyze the data, SPSS WIN(10.0) (statistics program) was used and through this I produced percentage and frequency on each question. And T-INSPECTION, ANOVA and cross-analysis were also used for this study.
The conclusions of this study are as follows.
First, most of early childhood teachers affirmatively think about the necessity and subscription of early childhood education news for NIE regardless of their academic careers and school backgrounds.
Second, they believe that culture section should take up the most in , next home section, and then education section and advertisement should take up under 30% in . And they're against putting any loanword, slang, abbreviation on and even more negative on slang and abbreviation. Teachers think that all the article should be in good grammar, but grammar needs not be that strict in cartoon dialogue and copywriting.
Last, the half size of the normal news would be good and a bunch of would be nice in delivery, they think. And 2-4 pages, writing laterally, various letter colors, 15-20 point in letter size, many figures of letter, 2 kinds of cartoon, 4-5 cuts in cartoon, colorful cartoon, weekly issue, and about 3000-5000 won for subscription, they prefer.
