본 연구는 초급, 중급 한국어 학습자를 위해 신체어 관련 관용 표현 교재를 개발하는 데에 목적을 두었다. 관용 표현은 외국인 학습자 습득에 있어서 흥미로운 동시에 어려움도 겪고 있는 부분이다. 신체 관련 관용 표현은 일상생활에서 사용빈도가 매우 높다. 구체적인 연구 절차는 다음과 같이 제시하였다.
먼저 2장에서 이론적 지식을 살펴보았다. 관용 표현의 개념에 대한 여러 학자의 논의를 살펴본 후에 본 연구도 관용표현을 정의하였고 관용 표현의 범주도 상위 범주와 하위 범주를 다시 규정하였다. 그리고 관용 표현의 특징은 통사적과 의미적으로 나누어 살펴보았다.
3장에서는 사용빈도 및 의미 투명도, 외국인 학습자의 인지도 및 학습 필요도를 선정기준으로 초급 및 중급 단계의 신체어 관련 관용 표현 목록을 선정하였다. 사용빈도 및 의미 투명도는 임혜진(2007)의 연구를 따르고 외국인 학습자의 인지도 및 학습 필요도는 초급, 중급 한국어 학습자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다.
4장에서는 먼저 교재의 구성 원리와 교재 구성 모델을 제시하였다. 교재 구성 원리는 외적 구성과 내적 구성으로 나누어 제시하였다. 다음에 교재의 단원 구성과 한 과의 예를 살펴보았다. 단원을 구성하는 요소는 주제, 기능, 어휘, 과제 및 활용을 나누어 제시하였고 단계별 수업 구성은 ‘소제목, 도입 단계, 대화문 제시, 어휘 및 추가 관용 표현, 연습 단계, 활용 단계’ 6단계로 구성하였다.
초급, 중급 학습자들이 더욱 효율적으로 관용 표현을 학습할 수 있도록 본 연구에서 신체어 관련 관용 표현 교재 개발 방안에 대해 연구하였다.

This is research of human-body related idioms for Korean learners of primary and middle level, and idioms is one of most interesting and difficult part for foreign learners, which are used in daily life very frequently. The procedure of research is as follows:
First of all, Chapter 2 is basic theory. The concept of Idiom is defined here by referencing other researchers', The Idiom is redefined by categories of high rank and low rank , and also the features of Idiom expression are classified by syntactic and semantic.
Chapter 3 is based on frequency of using, transparency of meaning, cognition level of foreigners and necessity, and lists human-body related idioms for primary and middle level learners. Reference of frequency of using and transparency of meaning is from Lim, Hyejin(2007), and Survey has been done for cognition level of foreigners and necessity.
Chapter 4 is for principle and model of curriculum resource, and principle of resource includes interior and exterior. Curriculum resource unit and example for lesson are included in this chapter. One unit includes theme, ability, vocabulary, subject and using. There are 6 phases as sub-title: introduction, dialog expression, vocabulary, idiom, practice, using.
This developed curriculum resource of human body related idioms for primary and middle level learners, it will be helpful to learn them efficiently.
