본 연구는 한국어 교육학에서 주로 거시적으로 다루어졌던 개화기 외국인 편찬 한국어 교재를 분석하여 대상 자료의 교수 내용과 방법을 교육적인 관점에서 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국... 본 연구는 한국어 교육학에서 주로 거시적으로 다루어졌던 개화기 외국인 편찬 한국어 교재를 분석하여 대상 자료의 교수 내용과 방법을 교육적인 관점에서 고찰하는 데 목적이 있다. 한국어 교육의 초기 단계로 개화기를 상정하고 당대 한국어 교재가 외국인들을 중심으로 편찬되었다는 사실에 주목했다. 이를 알아보기 개화기 외국인 편찬 한국어 교재의 주요 교수 어휘, 문법을 데이터베이스화하였으며 각 교재를 분석하여 어휘와 문법 교수 내용과 방법에 대해 조사하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외국인들은 한국어를 받아들이는 인식 통로 자체가 다르며 그에 따라 언어권별 맞춤식 교재가 만들어졌다고 봐야할 것이다. 둘째, 개화기 한국어 교육에서 활용된 주요 어휘, 문법교수 방법은 현대 한국어 교육에서 활용되는 방법과 차이가 있었으며 개화기 교재 안에서도 저자가 서양인인가 일본인인가에 따라 차이가 있었다. 셋째, 개화기 한국어 교육에서 선정한 회화의 주제는 보편적인 외국어 교육의 관점에 부합하였고 더하여 한국의 언어문화를 나타내는 담화문이 상당수 발견되었다. 주로 거시적인 관점으로 개화기 한국어 교재를 다룬 기왕의 논의들에서 세부적으로 다루지 못했던 위 세 가지 결과를 도출한 것에 본고의 의의를 두고자 한다. 그러나 <역대문법대계>의 자료만을 선정해 연구 대상 교재가 미흡한 점, 어휘와 문법 교수내용의 회화부와의 연관성에 관해 심도 있는 논의가 진행되지 못한 점, 독일어와 프랑스어 교재를 분석하지 못한 점, 저자의 문법 인식 체계를 좀 더 명확히 알 수 있는 방법으로 당대 영국, 미국, 일본 등의 모국어 교육 체계를 적용하여 살피지 못한 점 등 보완이 필요한 부분이 더욱 많이 보인다. 이러한 점들을 보완하는 후속 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

Expressly focus on early modern era as the first phase of Korean education. Most of Korean text books which compiled at early modern era was written by foreigners from The Western nations and Japan. To investigate a teaching context and method of Korean text books compiled by foreigners at early modern era, inspected the major teaching vocabulary, grammars in the object of study and analyzed vocabulary and grammar teaching context and method of individual objects. The detection of this study are follows: First, The foreigners awareness course which take Korean was different, and Therefore text books are match whit editors mother tongue. Second, The vocabulary and grammar teaching context and method in the text books of early modern era are different with text books uesd in this age either early modern era text books which depend on editors mother tongue. Third, The theme of conversation in text books in early modern era is coincide with general point of view of foreign language education. also The theme of conversation in text books in early modern era has numberous conversational sentence what indicate Korean language-culture. There are some Limitations to this study. A study is scarce of object for study, Can not Progress to find out connection of teaching context of vocabulary and grammar with conversation part deeply, Can not analyze textbooks Compiled by the German and french, Can not progress to comparison of Korean text books written by foreigners and their text books for mother tongue at identical era.
